It was that shot that convinced even the announcers that he was in bounds.

Actually it was just the oppposite. Joe Buck specifically states "saints fans can rest easy after seeing this blowup that the refs at least got the call right".

Eh.. Not necessarily. It just means it all depends on what the refs saw. Apparently they saw a blade of grass get touched... which if it did, so be it. I just didn't see the same thing.
Not what I was getting at. What part of "indisputable visual evidence is needed in order to overturn a call on the field" is so hard to grasp? My point is that if there is this much debate, there is no way the replay could be overturned.

And if it is this close watching it blown up in super slow mo, how could anyone say the refs blew it or screwed somebody one way or another when they saw it in real time speed?

".. No, you need both feet completely in. It was a good call. Very very close, but a good call... "

*****************************************************************
..yo - the "heel" ( and whole side fwiw..)is part of the foot .... just like the tippy toes are ... one of the WORST FAILS in review history...CLEARLY a TD - and neaux, it was not "close" ...

I know the toe barely scraped the white line when he rolled over, but he had his knee and heel in bounds way before the toe hit, with control of the ball. How the hell does a heel not count as in bounds? If making a catch with your tippy toes counts, the back of your foot should be no different.

and had he only touched with his heel and never with his toes it would have counted. to not understand the difference is amazing to me.

No, you are wrong...he had everything in bounds that he needed..the only leg the officials have to stand on is a weak arse claim that he was bobbling the ball.

There can be holding on every play, but jeebus let them play. Unless its completely obvious, let it go.

He 1000% was out of bounds. It's not even up for debate.

Did you watch the play? What part of him did you think was out of bounds? His left knee touched out after he was already down, this was the first thing to touch out. Your opinion confuses me greatly.

I will admit that I thought jimmys catch was a TD until I saw the replay after the commercial with the toe flicking up white grass. It was splitting hairs, but they at least got the call right after seeing that.

What is this insane heel ruling you idiots keep referring to? Does some one have a link to a rule? There is not one. A player does not have to pick up his feet after he taps his toe. That is not a rule. Players drag their toes all the time.

I watched it 20 times and did not see what people are referring to .

You can do a toe drag.

If you put your entire foot down however the entire foot has to be in bounds. Stop bringing up toe drags, they are separate rules and a toe drag did not happen on the play and is completely irrelevant.

Right. It would have to be irrefutable evidence to overturn that. And that little piece made it stand as called on the field.

Here's the deal though, we shouldn't have been in that situation. I understand the point of squeezing it in like that, but we have many capable players on our team, so to go to that on 3rd and goal means we failed in the other attempts.

it should have AT LEAST been called a TD on the field and that is an absolute fact.

how you can deny that as a TD is ridiculous. people say that his toe touched before his knee and before this? is this really the case.. because if not all he would need his one knee.
