We're not a premier defense as it is with our starters. Filling in with special teamers and guys you just signed isn't going to get us anywhere.

Injuries sure.

Never covering the other teams main passing threat reeks of poor gameplanning, though.

Everything you said made sense, except all of it.

You can blame the spring training country club atmosphere for a lot of the injuries occurring.....

+1 and this has happened in games where we were much more healthy

You're right, he showed last season how good he can be. He just needs more time!

The game of football requires tackling. We can't even do that and it has nothing to do with injuries.

We had a rookie with several guys who are either special teamers or street free agents at linebacker.

We had Cam Jordan and a bunch of guys who have zero pass rush skills up front.

We have Brandon Browner and Jairus Byrd, two bust-a-rific free agent signings, as the "leaders" of the secondary.

I'm not saying Ryan isn't expendable, but the OP is not wrong. The talent available today on defense was mostly garbage by NFL standards.

No shite.

Off peak season, the Greenbriar is usually $400/night.

Why to the Cowboys have so many injuries...man the injuries across the NFL this season has been insane...

But this Greenbrier thing seems to have made the Saints a lil' soft

There is very little talent on this defense. The first string has some good players but there is no depth to speak of

They're years away from being any good on D.

Offense sucked too. Plenty of blame to sling around. They are who we thought they were after week 2

Good grief, the defense is terrible. Anyone with a damn lick of football sense knew this before the season.

Quote all the meaningless stats you want, it doesn't change a thing.

Yardage and points, that's it.

Ryan has about come to the end of my hoping. That says a lot. I think there has been quality enough personnel to not be great but at least journeyman, middle of the pack. This is atrocious looking schemes. Sure the injuries hurt but that wasn't all today. Why is Browner still stuck with quick receivers or deep. I still think he has some good play left but what they are asking plays away from his strengths. I'm wondering HTF they ranked 4th on D in 2013 now. That was his first year DC. Sometimes there is an uptick just from a different scheme/coordinator replacement- even if it may be no better or worse.

If we had a middle of the pack defense, we may have beat Carolina and games like today and all the other close ones.

We have a great offense that can score, and it's all being wasted, because we cant stop any other team on defense.
