Vic Carucci ?@viccarucci 4h4 hours ago

For those asking, OL help the #Bills clearly need will come from draft after failing to get Bryan Bulaga in FA & Jahri Evans via trade.

can only imagine that their offer was shite - cause i cannot imagine they would not have jumped all over it if it was good value.

maybe he will have a good year this year and make us forget last year.

Mickey: Jahri, you got two options in life: Paycut or traded to Bills.

Jahri: you name your paycut, done.

That run blocking for shady would be been awesome for him though.

if he sucked last year due to health issues, then maybe they feel he still has something positive to bring to this team. I am skeptical, because the year before he was struggling as well. we will have to grit our teeth and bayer with it one more season I guess

This was covered on the NFL radio network this morning. That's pretty much what they said. Said the Saints were willing to trade Evans and Grubbs and Bills wanted Evans...obviously not bad enough.

Maybe they will up their offer on draft day.

If the Saints parted with Grubbs for a 5th, i would assume they want a 3rd/4th for Evans.

Perennial pro-bowler. I would want a second.

Evans is past his prime and expensive. We aren't getting a second for him.

And I agree something could happen draft day but then again I'm not sure Sean wants to have 3 new starters on the interior of the line.

They probably wanted a 4th rounder for him. I doubt the Bills were willing to give up that much. I think there's a very good chance that he takes a paycut pretty soon.

I think people are overlooking how difficult it can be for an OL to change all 3 interior offensive linemen. I don't remember for sure, but I could have sworn that I read that both guards were on the trade block, but that we were only looking to trade one of them. That makes sense. As bad as Jahri was against the pass rush, he did grade out very well in the run game. Also, Jahri is only 31. Interior lineman on both sides of the ball have a history of playing well into their mid 30's. He really may have just played poorly due to injury.

I dont see it happening. An O-Line has to work together as a group so it would be really hard to have 3 interior lineman that have never played together as your starters. Not saying it can't be done but it seems you would have growing pains. Those growing pains could cost us valuable games.

Lets hope there is competition for both guard spots with a good draft.
If someone outplays Evans in camp continuity be damned.
