To be completely fair (although OP is a jackass), how many other jobs can you think of where you are forced to stand for the pledge of allegiance? Also, they aren't factory workers. They're elite athletes (some of them) who arent exactly expendable. And anyway, It's not like they're refusing to play. They're kneeling for 3 minutes before the game.

I still dont understand why people see this as disrespect instead of Individuals exercising their rights. I'd place more weight on the constitution and what it stands for (I.E Free Speech) as opposed to some song.

Unless your problem with this truly is that they can get away with voicing their opinion at work and you cant, I dont see why you'd give a shite that they're getting away with it.

That being said, this whole ordeal is so stupid, and I wish people would stop talking about it.

American sports are meant to bring people together no matter what religion, race or creed. The National Anthem is a part of that. It is a time where we can all be unified by putting our hands over our hearts and singing. Crazy to think that this is such an insane idea now. What a weird time we live in.

This is false....Having elite athletes are a luxury, but they do not have to exist. Injuries happen and the games go on. Retirement happens and the game goes on. You look at a player like Aaron Rodgers. He is likely done for the season. Some team other than Green Bay will likely win the Super Bowl, but 5 years from now the record book will not say that Kansas City won the Super Bowl, but Rodgers didn't play after Week 6.

I think this goes both ways. They do have the right to protest what they want to protest. Nobody is arresting them. Now on the other side of the coin. I equally have a right to boo, not show up or type my disagreement on a message board.

We act as if a damn football game is a sacred, religious event. What the hell difference does it make whether some jocks stand, sit, kneel, or whistle zippy de do dah outta their assholes?
Because it's what you do at sporting events, play the National Anthem AND stand. You know why? Because it's a RESPECT thing. It's not an oppressed thing, it's not a protest thing. You STAND for the National Anthem. Don't like it? Move to another damn country and go make millions over there. I'm sick and tired of hearing stand, don't stand. When that National Anthem is played you fricking stand!

Christ why do so many go down this road? They are on the job. They are on the clock. Actions have f@cking consequences on the job. You can't protest on the bosses dime and have zero damn consequences. Bunch of hard headed idiots I swear don't get this.

You're right but their bosses are protesting with them so what consequences are there gonna be?

If that is the case then only the consumer has any sway.

Was hoping the NFL would end this once and for all.
