After they're on an 8 game win streak.

We should’ve tanked last year, but our division was so fricking sad, we were kept mathematically alive too long to actually tank the correct way.

Caleb is a taller Kyler Murray. Do with that, what you will. In my opinion, it’s not worth tanking for unless he takes a massive step up in leadership and acting like an adult/ceo/face of franchise.

The talent is there. The maturity really

Where are you getting that from?

I actually like caleb williams. He doesn't come off like murray whatsoever.

Watch his mannerisms on the sideline when things aren’t going well and/or they are in danger of losing. He sincerely looks like he’s going to have a mental breakdown and I’m not exaggerating it. The end of the bowl game against Tulane game is a good example of this.

Also. The painting of his fingernails with sayings such as “frick Utah” or UCLA.

I believe he did this several times. It’s just a weird, unprofessional thing to do and when you draft a QB, you really want them to act more like Burrow or Bryce Young than Lamar, Cam Newton, Baker Mayfield, or Jackson Mahomes. I’m more prone to put up with antics if it’s a Defensive player or a Wide Receiver. I think maturity is a non negotiable for a franchise QB though.

All of These little intangible things add up and make a real difference belief wise in the locker room and in the heat of battle when things are tight on the field (it usually is in the nfl). It’s the reason why Burrow can go almost to win a Super Bowl in year 2 in a place that hasn’t won a playoff game in 31 years. There are similarly talented QB’s, but they don’t have the elite of the elite human element that most of the truly great QB’s do.

People get overly enamored with speed, arm strength, arm angles, etc. However, being a good QB is more about character in tough situations than your overall talent level. Guys like Mahomes have character and elite talent. Meanwhile, guys like Kyler Murray and Caleb have elite talent, but shaky character and intangibles. Maybe Caleb turns it around and matures. But there is a clear difference between Mahomes and Caleb at around the same age. One was an adult and the other one isn’t yet and still has to prove he can be. The football talent level is similar. The intangibles aren’t. So, that’s why I compare Caleb to Kyler Murray more than Mahomes at this point.

Yea let’s tank to just give the eagle a top 5 pick instead of the top 10 we handed over. Brilliant.

Never. Added a premier QB and RB to the roster still in their primes, hired a new OL coach, and will likely have a nice draft haul. I'm not saying Super Bowl, but the Saints will be very competitive this fall. DA and company are going to make the chuckle-heads calling for their jobs melt down.

Spelled Drake Maye wrong.

I also think Drake Maye will be the better NFL QB

Caleb Williams would probably be shot, stabbed, or bled out if he remained in NO a year anyway

Ain't no way that baw would make it a year in NO.

Never.

We have 1 Super Bowl in our history... there was one significant high 1st Rd pick on that team. Reggie Bush, taken #2 overall. He was not the starter, more of a gadget change of pace, and a return guy.

QB Brees, RB Bell, LB Fujita, Shanle and Vilma, TE Shockey, all FA from other teams. Same for WR Moore. RB Thomas was an UDFA.

Looking at that roster LINK
Robert Meachem was a 1st Rd pick, as I remember. Sedrick Ellis, Malcolm Jenkins maybe. MAYBE Shockey and Vilma... but not ours. But I don't remember any of those being high firsts.
The only guy on the team that would be considered a true HIGH 1st Rd pick was Reggie Bush, and he was more of a toy.

You tank to get the top pick in the draft. We've proven we don't need that, we won for more than a decade with another team's 2nd rd pick at QB.
