Caleb Williams is the goal
Our dline is in shambles
Aging offensive line
Safety play declining
No depth at lb
Still a wr short even if Thomas actually plays
Kamara headed for suspension
One injury away from back to Winston running show

Thats what the draft is for

I believe Hurst is our only starter over 30 lol

Could def improve in those areas no argument.

So if Thomas plays, you are worried about our 5th WR?
Thomas, olave, Shaheed, edwards are most likely the 4

Legit concern

Carr has been one of the more durable QBs. If your starter goes down is a concern for every team in the league.

Caleb Williams might be the next Pat Mahomes or he might be the next Baker Mayfield. The draft is not an exact science and is NEVER a sure thing.

Technically speaking they're all aging every day

Fair...
And it would be insane to pay Carr what we did to tank for a QB.

What lol? Three starters are on their rookie contract and the 4th is an all pro under 30.
Have to love people posting shite that have no idea what they are talking about.

Every freaking team in the nfl is one injury away from having ___________ who sucks, having to start at qb.
Why don’t you do some research and see how many games Carr has missed in his career before posting shite takes. Here’s a hint, it hasn’t been many.

All of the people who advocate tanking are always the first to complain when the team starts losing game after game.

Or Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell, etc

Draft ain’t that difficult. There is a shite ton of tape. You get to interview the guy for days. You have 20 plus year’s of a guy’s life to determine what his work ethic and character is like.
People overcomplicate it when they ignore warning signs like poor character and leadership, poor tape, off the field issues, etc.
Or they value combine over tape.
Caleb is a taller Kyler Murray. Do with that, what you will. In my opinion, it’s not worth tanking for unless he takes a massive step up in leadership and acting like an adult/ceo/face of franchise.
The talent is there. The maturity really isn’t yet.

We’re one injury away from playing our backup QB?!
How do the other 31 teams avoid this? We need to find out!!
And Winston is easily a top 10 option at backup in the NFL.

Saint fans really wanna lose. Must be in our DNA

Saints are stuck in the middle. They are not good enough to win it all but too good to tank. But playing in what is probably the weakest division in the weaker conference, they have a good shot to win their division and make it to the playoffs. That is not a situation that is conducive for tanking.

Only on this board do "fans" talk about tanking before training camp or the draft even happens.

Tanking isn’t the way you win in football. Tanking ends up with your team searching for years. If you draft well your roster will always give you a chance to win games. Seattle didn’t have to tank to change their team.
I am optimistic about our team, only because we have so many players trying to “prove” things combined with our talent. We have our stars. Jordan, Davis, Lattimore, Kamara, Ramczyk, Olave. But we also have vets trying to prove people wrong. Carr, Thomas, Williams Peat, Mathieu, Maye. My problem with the Saints was we were far too top heavy. We really lacked depth the last two years and it showed because we were so injury prone. You are starting to see us gain that depth in Werner, Taylor, Ruiz, Penning, etc.
Like it or not, last year was a transition year. Allen and Carmichael were trying to figure out how to run their own ship, rather than keep Payton’s ship afloat. Now after this year if you don’t like the offense, we struggle to win 8 games, THEN you can officially say “ehhhh this won’t work”. Because let’s be real how was last year REALLY different than Sean’s last year? Bunch of injuries, revolving door at QB, no WR depth, iffy o line, struggling to run the ball, good defense but iffy at times, 7-10. But people were like “wow look what Sean did with THIS team” vs “Allen and Carmichael look horrible”.
I think the overall feel for this team is that we got better this offseason. Imagine we win 11 games and win 1 playoff game and lose in the divisional? And now Thomas and Peat deal end snd you have next offseason to build even more. A great draft changes a team so much which is why the Draft is so important. Let’s see what we can do. The Saints aren’t tanking because the team isn’t bad enough to only win 3 games. They would be where the Panthers/Falcons are at. Bad, but nit bad enough to really be in that contention for the number 1 pick unless they trade a bunch of future picks and a young star. Like great! They may get stroud, but now they have zero top tier offensive skill players. And now they don’t have the top picks to go get them. Especially with Stroud who thrived with talent around him at the skill position. Now he won’t really have any. No number 1 receiver, No number 1 TE, no number 1 RB. It took them 2-3 years to even do SOMETHING to change script. We would be in the position of the Rams which is not good because they aren’t bad enough to only win 3 games, but aren’t good enough to make playoffs.

I feel like this thread is a joke but also maybe you’re serious and just dumb. I really don’t know.
