As bad as the defense played, hang alot of blame on offense.

This game was still within reach if not for the inept offense. Coleman drops TD pass. Brees overthrows Lewis in back of endzone and shitty playcalling.

and did not see a wide arse open Thomas in back of endzone...

Drew threw it perfect for a WR with hops and size. TLL has neither.

Don't understand why we feel the need to do this after every loss. Everyone has to knight for either the offense or the defense. Team loss, plain and simple. Defense played shitty enough to not warrant overlooking their effort simply because the offense sputtered.

No time to check down that far with the porous OL

If you want to blame the O for anything blame extremely poor run blocking. Every game will be the same unless the OL is addressed aequately

That and some really head scratching goal line calls. I mean, we ran right at them on three straight plays and had to settle for a fg. Had a Les PTSD moment.

This is exactly how we have started the last few years. Our defense does enough in the first half, our offense shits the bed, defense gets tired and losses the game.

When you have Drew Brees, you gotta start fast and put the pressure on the other team.

Our OL is banged up. The Armstead loss and now the Strief injury put us in a bad spot.

Yep. Not sure if any team in the NFL could lose both starting OT's & keep up offensive production.

I think one of the main things we tried to force was an inside run game. We were getting literally nothing all night but never adjusted. Were also very obvious when we're trying to force a power run game because we go to I or jumbo. We hardly run it out of shotgun on balanced downs.

The game was lost about 2 minutes before the half when Payton donated 2 of his timeouts to Minnesota.

I'm going to agree with you on this. The offense stalls out 3X inside of the 5 yard line. The defense, as bad as it was, was not as hurtful as the offense's inability to punch it in on 3 1st and goal situations. Get touchdowns instead FG's and the 4th quarter looks a lot different

Actually, over the past few years, I've noticed that some of the problems we have had is the fact that our ability to execute screens has suffered. When Pierre and Sproles were around, this was not a problem

It's been a pet peeve of mine every time the saints lose, everyone blames the defense. It's a team game, offense looked like hot garbage in the red zone

There's plenty of blame to go around. Red zone offense, O-Line play, offensive play calling, running zone defense, playing DeVante Harris a bunch of snaps, & inability to pressure the QB. Coleman dropped a td & Lewis ran a route incorrectly as well.

I think all are correctable, except maybe the O-Line play. We may be able to do a decent job patchworking it until Armstead & Strief get back, but I think that's our biggest problem right now.

We should be a much different team once Armstead, Strief, Snead, & Breaux come back. Hopefully we don't dig a huge hole that we can't get out of though. We can't go 0-4 to start the season.

Even though it's practically impossible in such a bad loss, I thought Brees looked really good. He did everything he could in a very bad situation (no Snead, no tackles, elite defense, road environment). threw a few absolute dimes (fleener, Ginn, Lewis)

I had been thinking about this. Now I know that he defense gave up 29 points and score dictates how the game is played. If the Vikings needed more in the 4th quarter then maybe they get those points.

But if the Saints lose 29-27 then we are talking about the offense not being able to get the points.
