Are the Falcons really gonna blow a potential Belichick hire?

Look, I have my doubts that Belichick can get anywhere close to the Brady success years but the Falcons front office can't get out of their own way

Maybe they’ll build rapport and have him all locked up, ready to bring them a championship, only to lose out on all that in the 11th hour?

I don't know much about the Falcons organization but Arthur Blank doesn't strike me as a particularly bright NFL owner. Like if you ordered your Jerry Jones from Wish.com kinda thing.

Having said that I 100% support him making the worst possible decision to keep that franchise in the bottom of the celler for eternity.

There's nothing I hate more than the Atlanta Falcons except maybe pedophiles.

Maybe it’s the smartest thing they can do.

I hope like hell they hire him. You have a disconnect with the owner and everyone else. Blank wants him, everyone else doesnt.

It just delays them actually becoming good.

Belichick without a QB doesn't scare me. Belichick if he trades for Justin Fields kinda scares me. Belichick if the Falcons somehow trade low enough to take one of the top 3 QBs scares me starting year 2.

It will be Belichick and Kirk Cousins or possibly Baker

Why would they hire a 71 year old with not alot left in the tank and is a proven loser without the great football player of all time?

or, even better

maybe the falcons offer him 28 million, and as he's about to sign, he goes elsewhere for 3 million.

yet the idiots here will downvote to oblivion if you say this.

they are so dumb think Belichick will bring 6-8 super bowls to any team he goes to. when in truth he isnt a good coach at all and it was brady that made him great

I dont think he is right for them.

They would be better with Ben Johnson.

There were half a dozen open jobs and Bill hasn't gotten much interest from anyone else. The Falcons are hoping they get 60 year old Bill, not 70 year old Bill

Not sure what happened

According to my sources it was pretty close to a done deal at 3:28pm yesterday

Guessing they just couldn't finish it

I get what you're saying but they've run a pretty awesome coaching search. Very extensive list and including virtually every good candidate available imo

Bobby Slowik (Texans OC)
Brian Johnson (Eagles OC)
Jim Harbaugh (Michigan HC)
Bill Belichick (former Pats HC)
Mike Macdonald (Ravens DC)
Brian Callahan (Bengals OC/Now Titans HC)
Steve Wilks (49ers DC)
Ejiro Evero (Panthers DC)
Mike Vrabel (former Titans HC)
Anthony Weaver (Ravens AHC/DL)
Raheem Morris (Rams DC)
Joe Brady (Bills interim OC)
Aaron Glenn (Lions DC)

Bill wants to bring in McDaniels, Judge, and Patricia as his top assistants. I’m guessing that’s a hard sell even for the Falcons.

There’s an article in the ny post saying the falcons front office doesn’t want him because they want a young guy which is better for their job security

Honestly I wonder how much interest Bill really has/had in taking the job. At 72 with 6 rings I’d probably just go fishing.

Bill is only interested in the all time coaching victory record. The Falcons are the only team stupid and desperate enough to look at his last 3 years of coaching and think he is the guy to turn a middling franchise around.
