Anyone still think Loomis has lost his touch?

With the wheeling and dealing he did to get under the cap, get extra draft picks, cutting of players with personality issues, and the addition of several good players, Loomis needs to win an award for GM of the year.

Don't sleep on Jeff Ireland's influence on these moves, either. Obviously had a hand in today's Stills trade.

This is what happens when you do contracts like Loomis does. I think we all know these days were coming, but honestly I've loved the trades so far and now with 10 draft picks, five of which in the first 3 rounds, absolutely on board.

Yes. Nobody questioned his ability to deal with cap. The question is can we get the production we've lost in the draft which has always been up for debate as to how good Loomis is on talent evaluations.

Can we judge after the draft?

Exactly. Also I wouldn't necessarily say these moves have been good. Saints are rebuilding and re tooling with a 36 year old QB.

I don't give a damn why it came to this. All I know is I like every move that has been made this offseason and we have improved our stock in the draft.

Why, Loomis surely isn't. What other GM has the balls to get rid of a fan favorite like Graham, but in the process, improve the team greatly. As long as we have a good draft, and I think J. Ireland will help that, this will be the best off season in Saints history, and will rank up there with best of all times, IMHO (considering cap situation before & finish product after).

I don't see how people are upset about our offseason moves.

Which improvements do you speak of?

Because they thought they had the personnel to make a run last year, as did EVERYONE. That did not work and now they are re-tooling.

I CONGRATULATE the front office for correctly assessing the situation. And I congratulate Loomis and CSP for being ruthless counts when times call for it.

Let's all, as Saints fans hope it pans out.

Unger
1st round pick from Seattle
Browner
Spiller
additional draft picks

need I go on?

This cannot be said with any validity until after the draft and even then you would be better off to wait a while to even grade the draft picks.

Judge this off-season in 2017 the same way we can look back at the last few drafts now and say they have been pretty bad.

Loomis and the entire coaching staff along with CSP are on the clock after this off season. This says a lot about CSP locker room and the scouting dept of Loomis the last few years.

They will either win kudos, awards and lots of games or earn their pink slips.
