I am strongly considering going to the Detroit game. I have never been to that city and am pretty intrigued by all the urban jungle stories I hear about it. Is it really as bad as people make it out to be? Also Ford Field looks badass.

My friend Reggie works for the Lions so he is going to hook it up as well.

I used to work there as a medic, its fricking horrible. People don't know how to act. Some fast food restaurants have bulletproof panes over their counters and shite.

OK.

Detroit seems cool. I am a big music guy and love the sounds of MoTown and later the psychedelic soul of J Dilla. I am excited about visiting there. It also seems like a cheap trip.

I have family in the Detroit area and spend a good amount of time there. Ford Field is a great venue and I love the Detroit area. No it's not as bad as people make it out to be. If you're willing to drive a little there are tons of things to do in the area.

Find the most run down neighborhood in nola. Detroit is about 90% of that.

I'll be there from Chicago - feel similarly about Detroit as you, although their legendary art museum is going to take up much of my Friday or Saturday.

Fingers crossed I can catch a Tigers game if the timing is right and that Arcade Fire happens to be playing Motown that weekend. My tux will be pressed and ready to rumble.

Downtown Detroit is horrible. I've lived in Ann Arbor for 8 years. I'm only an hour's drive to downtown Detroit and I've only been about a dozen times. As unbelievable as it sounds Robocop and Gran Torino actually show Detroit in a better light than reality.
