I think it goes without saying but we got some talent.

Top 3 QB
Top 7 RB Unit
Top 10 Receiving Corps
Top 3 OL
Top 12 DL
Top 20 LB
Top 8 Secondary

*based on current paper value with room for growth

Coaching upgrades across the board and potentially the most football hungry Sean since 2006

The only thing giving me bigger blue balls is the fact that no one sees us coming. Years of cap purgatory/bad decisions have made us a league wide nonfactor.

Our division is tough but we got a chance to be really good. My only complaint is WDE but even then unlike last year we have NFL caliber options 3 deep... Last year we didn't have 1.

I like those projections. Have a couple edits though.

Top 1 QB
Top 3 backfield

I thought you weren't as high on Brees as the rest of us? You're always complaining about his arm strength.

Oh so now you are saying Brees IS a Top 1 QB? Whatever happened to all that "noodle arm" bullshite?

We had a 5000 yard passer, 1000 yard rusher, and TWO 1000 yard receivers, and we missed playoffs.

If our defense doesn't step up, we aren't doing shite.

Love drew. Think he's the GOAT. he doesn't have the strongest arm but it's adequate for now. When Father Time really hits him his production will suffer as he is already right on the border of the arm strength threshold required. Ask Peypick Manning

I would expect that to generate total D ranked 13-15. I'm all in but that is high side optimistic even for me. With two rookies we hope to start in the secondary... I'm just expecting to get out of the historically abysmal category. That said, totally D just getting up to a 20ish range and I'm thinking 1st Rd bye.

Special teams will be a huge wildcard. Lutz could be the keeper finally. The upside potential for the return game is endless with the additions and coaching change.

That's a lot of expectations for 2 rookies. I'll be pretty happy if we are top 20 in defense.

If our defense can from bottom 3 to average we will make the playoffs. We don't need a top ten secondary to do so.

Just for perspective, every year we finished top 19 in points given up we've had a winning record.

Every year we've finished 25th (no finishes between 20-24) or worse we've been 8-8 or 7-9.

So if we could just be top 20 in points given up we should make the playoffs.

Excluding 2006 when they went 10-6, every year the saints finished 22nd or better in PPG they've gone 11-5 at worst

We've never finished 22nd so not sure why you'd phrase it that way. It'd be every year we finished 19th or better we've been 10-6 or better.

Every year we finished 18th or better we've been 11-5 or better.
