If healthy, he will contribute. He's got one of the best get offs/motor of anyone I've ever seen play for the Saints since dome patrol. Him putting it all together is a long shot, but he's worth giving a shot.

True he only has a sample size in the NFL, but none of these projected 1st rounders are proven either; nor is any college player. It's only a matter of time before he tries to tackle Ingram again in camp and everyone on this board will be talking about how we should've traded him.

No. The slight chance that he can still stay healthy and become a contributing pass rusher far outweighs the 6th or 7th round pick that we might get in a trade. He is worth more to us on the roster than anything that we might get for him.

Ok then, you take the Greg Romeus clone and I'll take Lewis Neal or another promising rookie in the 5th or 6th.

You're right. The only way that we can pick Lewis Neal is if we trade away Kikaha for nothing. Kikaha is taking Neal's roster spot right now, and there is no way that we can pick another DE with him on the roster.

a potentially legit pass rusher is worth more than a 6th/7th rounder. He could be a key contributor on defense if he stays healthy

PJ Williams is back as well.

what we need to do is trade him for something while he's a young and a proven pass rusher with a motor; keeping him is a mistake

Holy shite

Trade him for what?

Kikaha has been balling since serving his time in the longest yard.

Wrong about what? I have no inside information on Kikaha (or information that I'm willing to reach out to get), but it appears he's already back to work in some aspect as he is participating in workouts. Previous reports had him "doing outstanding" in his recovery according to SP.

From yesterday:

quote:

Saints DE Hau'oli Kikaha (knee) is participating in OTAs

quote:

Edge rusher Hau'oli Kikaha was present at the Saints training facility Monday for the start of the offseason workout program, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. One source said Kikaha was pulling sleds, among other workouts.

From Cam:

quote:

"I'm just looking forward to him and Kikaha coming back healthy, that should provide some depth and be able to get after the quarterback."

Just judging your sources claim by your brilliant posting history. I have no opinion on his health, and think we should see him as lagniappe if he's a go.

Bottom line: if he didn't have a chance to get back on the field, we'd let him walk. It may still happen, but we have enough hope to have him in still. We'll net $913k if he's cut later.

This. We have no way of trading him right now, even if we did it would be pennies on the dollar, and dependent on a physical. If he can pass a physical, why would we move him when pass rusher is our #1 need? He's young, cheap and showed flashes for the short amount of time he was healthy for us. Bring him into camp, if he's not good we cut him. Nobody is going to trade anything for him right now, he hasn't been 100% since September of 2015.

He was lights out his rookie year and had a unexpected accident coming off a good year... I bet he comes in no matter what his role is and play at a high level.. If he can avoid injury
