No, not all. There are definitely some that can hold their own against him. Not saying he won't have some success against those lt's, but they won't look like high schoolers like Bushrod did.

Bushrod was a started for 4 seasons. He was mediocre to below par but he started for a SB team and we nabbed him in the 5th

Name a good tackle we've gotten late.

Bushrod 4th round pick , he was good just not worth the money Bears paid

Bushrod wasn't good. He was average.

I agree with this, we don't need a great tackle with the way Brees moves in the pocket, but we need an upgrade from average. BUt i don't think Lane JOhnson is worth a 15

Kind of hard to name a "good" LT pick if we've only had Brown and Bushrod start under Payton

Similar, but different.

Zach Streif was a 7th round pick a few years ago. Before he became the starter at RT, he was an awesome swing tackle and jumbo TE. That's value. Bushrod was great for a 4th rounder from Towson. Jon Stinchcomb and Jamaal Brown were both 1st rounders, but neither were especially talented (or drafted by Payton). Through good coaching they were able to form a good duo. This line has always been built off of a solid interior with two great guards and a good center. The tackles don't need to be great because of the way Drew steps up in the pocket. If he has a bad interior he'd be stepping up to a sack in his face. I'm not feeling the pressure to reach for a tackle in the 1st, but if one of the top 3 fall to us, like Lane Johnson, then I'd boogie with that.

I'm all for another OLB drafted. If it would end up Mingo, it would be four guys competing- none of which have ever played a full NFL season at that position.

Good value, but again, not good enough for our needs at LT.

I think Stinch was a second rounder. And Brown, when healthy, was damn good.

Yeah, Drew manages, but if he had a good LT think how much better we could be. There have been tons of times where we either have to use a te to chip block or our LT will just get beat. And I am feeling some pressure. We really don't have anyone there. Charles Brown might not be bad, but he's never healthy. We have no one.

Motherfricking

We've made do with average because we'vegiven a lot of money to shitty defensive players . No reason we can't go for talented players. It doesn't HAVE to be all on Brees.

For me, if somehow Lane Johnson was on the board with Mingo and Jones, I'd go Johnson. If not, I'd be ecstatic for the other two. If all three are gone, I'm not sure where I'd go.

yeah, if one of the LT's was there I wouldn't mind us taking one really. As Brees gets a little older, why the hell not take one? But that is just my opinion.

tavon austin would be a fun pick but a lot of people seem to have forgotten Nick Toon. I know he's not the burner that some think we need but maybe he can come in and make some kind of an impact.

only flaw in this statement is that there are other positions required to field a competitive football team. 20 to be exact. I'm not opposed to taking another OLB, but this is historically a position that is filled in rounds 2-7 quite successfully. If there's a BPA there at LT, WR or (most importantly) NT, then it is short sighted to say we shouldn't take one of those instead of OLB

You can bank it, since we signed Butler, we will be getting either Austin or Johnson with the pick.
