There is a scene where the Cardinals are driving on the Saints in the season opener. In the huddle you can hear a miked up Carson Palmer talk about the Saints D,
"These guys are out of shape. Can you feel it?"
Hearing this made me wonder a bit...do you think the strength and conditioning program is lacking? Are the Saints in generally worse shape than other teams?

Oh yes because a qb is trying to fire up his team and say something it must be true!

We def had depth issues last year and played more rookie snaps than any other team
Our defense played much better in the 2nd half of that game than the first

Must have worked ourselves into shape during the first half.

We started Kevin Williams and John Jenkins on the D-line since it was the 1st game they probably were out of shape. In the back 7 we started 3 rookies and Browner who played like a retard last season so I could see where he thought we looked like shite.

Funny how the Cardinals stayed a week there for the game against Pitt and lost to 3rd string qb Landry jones after Mike Vick got hurt.
I'm starting to think it is a curse.

They were a reflection of their coach

It does make you wonder but it was probably just a mind game. Corner men tell their boxers this all the time "He's getting tired" speaking of the opponent, when their boxer is dragging arse just as bad.

There was something WAAAAYYYYY off about that game and game plan, PERIOD.
Offense played scared. 40 screen passes. They were afraid to challenge the secondary. Then they tried it one time and Snead got 65 yards. And then they never tried it again. That is so not Sean Payton.
And then on defense. They threw Breaux to the wolves out of sheer necessity and he wasn't ready yet. And then the Cardinals had a 270 pound tight end outrunning our secondary. Don't even get me started with that.
If you look at first month and a half of the season objectively now, they were not prepared physically or mentally for the season. They looked slow and bored. They went into the season knowing they had one WR, one DE, and one CB and just said "screw it, let's just see what happens and maybe we'll get lucky."
