re: About that defense...

So we're trying to improve one of the worst of alltime defenses the past 4 years. I think most were optimistic going into the season. If you were told preseason that you would hafta do that basically minus Laurinatis, Anthony, and Ellerbee- then, operate with your #4 & #5 corners as starters what would you have thought? As Brees has talked about the character of the team growing, this is the essence of that to me. Next man up! I think they have weathered a rash of injuries incredibly. We have seen unknowns like BW Webb develop before our eyes. I predicted Roberston would be a starter so no surprise. Stupar earning his reps with good play too. We can only be more optimistic if Breaux and Rankins add some more heat to the gumbo.

Anyone else think Laurinatis is done? He looked washed up as advertised before any injury. It smells like a pseudo cut to the IR IMO. We'll give ya another look next spring. If no more game another name added to the dead money roll.
