September 17,1967 was four days before my 9th birthday. I was sitting in the South end zone of Tulane Stadium with my dad to watch the Saints play the Los Angeles Rams in the 1st game in franchise history. My dad had signed up for Saint's season tickets the 1st day they became available. The stadium was packed and the atmosphere was electric. The crowd went berserk when John Gilliam ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. It was like Mardi Gras, Christmas, everyone's birthday and everyone's 1st orgasm all at the same time. Little did I know that that moment would be the high point for the next four decades. I am now the owner of that season ticket account. It is a nice gesture for the Saint's to recognize the original season ticket holders by placing their names on a wall of honor in the Superdome this year. Who else is on the list?

That's awesome man. My dad was at the first game and talks about the kick return all the time. Also how he was wearing suit and tie and able to smoke cigarettes in the seats.

My family didn't become season ticket holders until the late 70s, so I am amazed some fans have had them since day 1

Is it on the Wall of Honor? I thought it was going to be on a plaque in Champions Square.

I like that Quarterback Club card signed by Gary Cuozzo who was the original starting QB for the Saints. Buddy Diliberto used to like to tell the story of how that 1st year he was commissioned to host The Gary Quozzo Show, a weekly TV broadcast. By week 2, Billy Kilmer was the starter and the TV show featured the backup QB. It fizzled out shortly thereafter.

Couple of things about that card - 1) They misspelled Cuozzo's name, and 2) the quaint way they put quotes around the word "Saints".
