My point is that SP didn't have faith in his O to get a few inches at HOME to the dismal Bucs and possibly put the game away. That decision seemed to affect the offense the rest of the game. Just my humble opinion.

I may agree the play calling may have gotten a tad too conservative but I wouldn't say that translates to we need to go for it on 4th down in our own opponents field goal range when PT was out of the game.

You know what's funny, if Hartley makes that chip shot field goal to win yesterday, you hear nothing about these calls to punt or kick the field goal or 4th and short, yet, if hartley makes the field goal, that call to kick the fg earlier in the game instead of going for it would have been the difference in the game. Assuming the saints didn't convert the 4th down.
