I believe that I heard on the radio that the next closest team with the highest dead money are the Cleveland Browns at about $28 million.

Where the hell is Benson?? How do allow the front office to operate this recklessly? Fellas, in about two years from now we are looking at being what the Cleveland Browns are now!!!

Any other GM is fired on the spot.

There is no accountability in the organization.

I'd rather we tack on all the dead money we can now because we have a lot of space next year to throw around.

And I'd bank anything we will do exactly that.

What you can't blame on Loomis are the injuries to Rankins, Breaux and Kikaha, Danelle Ellerbe's glass body and the rapid decline of Keenan Lewis' health. If the Saints have these guys healthy I think this is a team that probably hangs on last Sunday.

I was very kneejerk in my reactions from the weekend, but the reality is that the Saints have been hit by the injury bug and it manifested in the fourth quarter.

What does this have to do with all the dead money against the CAP? The Saints two prized FA signees from 2015 are now off the roster, but they are still paying them for the next couple of years. They've been paying Jimmy Graham for the past couple of years after giving him a big contract then trading him. I'm sure there are others too that make up that $40 million figure.

We are decimated on that side of the ball for sure. We are snake bitten with injuries year to year.

We'll have at least $40 mil in space next year because we are shedding dead weight now (and have been 3 years straight).

And next year you want that space with the class coming up.

Loomis is Mr. Misunderstood.

He didn't mean to saddle the team with records for dead money and decimate the roster.

Saints sign Pierre Garcon to 3 yr 30M deal.

Saints sign Antonio Cromartie to lifetime contract.

They never expected to cut Galette after one year, or trade Graham after one year. But we had to clean house of the shitheads (including Stills) after the chemistry fell apart from releasing too many team leaders at once the year before.

Galette is more than 1/4 of the dead money.

How much dead money does the Pats have? Cards? Packers? Steelers? Panthers? Broncos? Just checking in with the better teams in the NFL.

I know Spiller is one.

Who's the other?

Yeah, JG is paid out...but Lewis, Browner, Hawthorne, Evans (who is back), Galette, Spiller....a couple of these we got nothing out of.

Browner is the other 2015 FA (along with Kevin Williams who ended up being the better signing of the three).

Well almost all those guys are paid out. This is the proration of it. Basically, would you rather spread out the cap hit or take it all at once. It just sucks that you don't get production out of the signings.

So, looking at Byrd's contract, it appears that if we wait to cut him on June 1, 2017, his dead cap hit is 3.4 million dollars.
