When things looked their darkest, there came a miracle.
God bless you Brett Farve for throwing over the middle.
Do you think that play still haunts Viking fans?

To this day, no other sporting event has made me scream, pace like a madman, rock on the edge of my seat, yank at my hair and just bring me to the near point of a breakdown like that game did. I have never watched a replay of the whole thing, I don't think I ever could even knowing how it turns out. 2009 was a very magical year but I am convinced that game took years off my life.

Saints got their arse whooped that game. Goes to show how much a couple of plays define a game.

Oh really? So we can
Say the saints whipped the 49ers arse in 2011 playoffs because we had 5 turnovers? No we can't. Now run along kid.

I think Favre is the one that got his arse kicked.

I don't live in Louisiana so I don't get to go to a ton of games but my wife and I made a last minute decision to fly in for that game. Top 3 lifetime experience, but yeah, took at least a year off my life.

I was not at the game but had to watch the game alone and was on my knees praying for that field goal to go through the uprights.

Only other time happier is when I got married and when we had our daughter.

This is the Saints we're talking about

I keep expecting Goodell to announce that after complaints from The Vikings the game has been vacated

The Saints were outplayed and only won b/c of Viking turnovers

If you deny that then we watched different games

It does but they're still much more traumatized by the NFC Championship loss to Atlanta a decade earlier. That game was absolutely theirs for the taking, then Gary Anderson gets the yips for the first time all year.

I'll never forget what a Vikings fan told me after the Saints beat them in the NFC Championship game..."we're more cursed than the New Orleans Saints. How bad is THAT?"

I want to say that one of the fumbles the Saints recovered were deep on their side of the field.

Porter punched the ball out some guy's hands and Vilma recovered. That was during a long drive by the Vikings in which they gained yards and chewed clock. I don't think the Saints turned that into points.

but they did when Harvin fumbled. That happened inside the Vikings 25 yard line or some where around there. So when the Saints scored and took the lead after that.. the drive obviously wasn't a long one or time consuming.

and then when Roby returned the opening kickoff of the 2nd half he got past midfield and at least to the Vikings 40 yard line. That drive ended with a Saints TD. Field position had a lot to do with the total yardage put up by the Saints offense that day.

I will say the Vikings were a better opponent than the Colts were. Their defense was better and Peterson (despite his fumbles) was the best RB in the game at that time.

There are moments where I'm still shocked and surprised as hell that we actually won that game. Minny was kicking our asses all over the field, moving the ball up and down and scoring points and we got lucky with a bunch of turnovers at the right time and great field position at the end.

It was a tougher game to win than the Super Bowl against the Colts.

i sat in the same spot on my couch pretty much. I would get up and pace around during timeouts.

I didn't even drink during the game (like that matters). But I mean I was just real nervous.

That's why I ended up watching the game alone, no one could talk to me.

You know what, I just realized I did not drink either, holy shite. Good times. Hope I get to experience it again before Brees retires.
