If I were the Jets, I'd be dealing with SF and only SF. They have like 15 picks or something this year.

I pray it's not us.

Sure, Revis is a good corner. But he's a pain in the arse with his wanting a new deal every two years, he will be overpaid, and cost draft picks. Not a single one of those things appeals to me. I hope they don't appeal to the FO either

You want as many teams interested to get into a bidding war. 49ers aren't going to bid against themselves if they know they're the only team in it.

PFT says its the Niners and Falcons

From what I've heard it is us and the Broncos, who are willing to add Dumervil as part of the trade.

I appreciate you guys sharing what you hear, but this is why people scoff when we hear "my sources are telling me." I would believe it's more of the 49ers and Falcons than it would be us. SF has the draft picks to get it done, and as much as it kills me to say this, ATL did something right, that we have yet to do- cut our older, less productive vets. They even cut their only pass rushing threat, while we're still holding on to two guys with high salaries who have no place in our new defense.

Not sure if I like the possibility of Elvis Dumervil leaving in the trade, unless he goes and we only have to send them a draft pick (2nd or 3rd). We would need to pick up a pass rusher from somewhere if this went down.

this. did the thread even need the "my sources" part? you couldve just left it with schefter, an actual person and the same info wouldve been conveyed.

anyway, if denver really is adding Dumervil, i dont think theres anyway we can match this.

It's sounding like there are more than two teams interested in Revis.

quote:

Appearing on NFL Live Wednesday, ESPN's Ed Werder predicted that the Jets will not get a first-round pick for Darrelle Revis. "I think it's unlikely that the Jets can get a No. 1 pick," said Werder.

"I think a lot of teams might consider giving up a (second-round pick) or less. The Jets are dealing from a position of obvious weakness. Two reasons: He's coming off ACL surgery in the final year of his contract. (And) his contract demands really have potential suitors worried the most. Teams know that if they wait a year, he'll become a free agent. They could get him for nothing." In addition to the 49ers and Falcons, Werder mentioned the Bucs and Lions as potential Revis suitors.

quote:

The Tampa Bay Times considers the Bucs a "very realistic landing spot" for Darrelle Revis.

The Bucs have a major need at cornerback, over $30 million in cap space and five draft picks in the first four rounds. Of six writers in a recent NFL.com panel, three picked Tampa as Revis' most likely destination. The potential hang-up is that Revis would have to want to go there, as the Bucs surely won't make a move without securing a long-term commitment. There should be multiple teams interested in Revis who are closer to the Super Bowl than Tampa.
