That is the combined record/winning pct. of our opponents so far, and the only one without a winning record is Det at 3-3.

The road forward doesn't get too much easier (though we have a Rodgerless Packers, Chi, NYJ, and TBx2).

Our remaining opponents hold a combined 33-27 record (.550). Only 3 (counting TB twice, Chi being the other) have losing records (but even they have multiple wins thus far).

Outside of the Eagles everyone in the NFC has multiple losses though, so the door is still wide open at this early point in our season.

Win the 3 games we should (GB, Chi, NYJ), at least split in the division, and then find 2 more wins (perhaps within the divison) and we can at least be wildcards.

We go 4-2 in the division we likely will, but being we've only played one so far and division games can go screwy we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Good analysis but at 1/2 game back and a win over the division leader, the Saints are legit contenders for the division. Wildcard is certainly in play and may be the route they ultimately take to the playoffs but the division is there for the taking. The next four games are very winnable. Nothing is a guarantee but IF the Saints take care of business and win those, I have no doubt they will sit atop the NFC South.

All true but at this early point in the season I don't want to overstate things either. This really should have been saved until at least 8 games in, but I thought it was pretty impressive we sit at 3-2 while our opponents (3 of whom we put losses on) have a better combine winning pct.

If you take our games out they sit at 16-8/.667. That's equal or better than every team not named the Eagles or Chiefs.

Only one opponent, Det, has a worse record (3-3).

Need to go at least 2-1 over the next 3.

I agree, win this week and the other games you are favorite in outside the division and its on. If we can do that and split home-away for the rest of the division games (which means sweeping Carolina) and we have a great shot at winning the division based on how ATL plays it out. Would have a head-to-head on Carolina working for us.

Also would really help for Detroit to go on a run and win the North.

Actually we want Minny to win the North, assuming GB is done and Chi doesn't suddenly become good.

If it came down to wild cards we want the team we beat to NOT win the division, and the team that beat us to take it.

The one good thing about the Rams this year if we do lose that game is it looks like they can win that division.

Redskins could be a game we need to win. Philly is rolling.

That is definitely true if the Saints are aiming for a wildcard spot, which is the most realistic scenario right now. However, and this is really jumping the gun, if the Saints can win the division, then Detroit winning the North is better for us. I hope we can make that happen!
