Link?

Under what possible repercussions would a team be influenced not to draft him?

Says who? Goodell? What the frick is he going to do to stop a team from drafting someone?

Says La'el himself!!!

Think about it genius.....not a single team spent a pick on a 1st round guy. Not one single team!!! It came from the horses mouth, but continue to believe what you want....don't know what else to tell you.

Don't kid yourself, Roger can do a lot. It's not your right to play in the NFL.....it is a privilege. TIFWIW

I don't know how much I believe it but I would think it has merit because after the Draft Collins was courted by almost every single NFL team, including the Saints. And it's no surprise that one of the wealthiest franchises with one of the wealthiest and hands-on owners on the cusp of contending landed him.

It's not like Dallas needed more Oline talent

And they couldn't force Collins to go to the cowboys so your conspiracy makes no sense

I'm sure the NFL told teams not to draft him but they didn't coordinate the entire thing to make sure he ended up in Dallas

Mike was certain that the fix was in on Collins getting drafted by any team.

The fix was definitely in. Collins in the 5th or higher was a no brainer. He was an NFL ready plug and play elite OG prospect.

Everything indicates Collins would have been a massive headache to whatever team drafted him in the lower rounds.

His replacement is having a better year than Collins has had so far in the NFL.

Maybe so, but how many 5th to 7th round picks pan out, or any picks for the Saints over the last scouting regime? I'll gladly take the chance on the headache, possible unable to sign, elite OG skill set at that point in the draft.

One of the most idiotic and untrue things that's consistently mentioned on this board.

The Collins thing is up there too.

It really is. Just use common use sense. Do people really think that EVERY TEAM IN THE NFL chose not to take a chance on a 1st round talent in the 7th round? If they were allowed to draft him...some team would have done so(probably no later than the 2nd round). He was passed on by every team for a reason. It sure as hell wasn't lack of scouting...do some people realize how dumb that sounds? How is this not obvious to people?

Even if a team tried to draft him, I seriously doubt the NFL would let the pick go through. The pick has to go through the league first, then they announce it. I realize some people get an idea in their head & have a hard time changing it...just think about it. The NFL was covering their own arse at the expense of La'El Collins.

Then he chose to play for the Cowboys over 31 other NFL teams. The Saints did everything they could to get him. End of story.

Him wanting Dallas wouldn't have mattered if NO drafted him. Some of you appear to have zero reading comprehension.

Have you not read anything yourself in this thread? The NFL was making sure that no team drafted Collins in that Draft.

Would I have liked the Saints to say frick it and buck the NFL? Of course. But they didn't...neither did any other team. There are 31 other teams in the NFL that could have drafted Collins but they didn't.

And it's not like the Saints aren't interested in LSU players...they were linked in past drafts to players like Jeremy Hill, Odell Beckham, Jr., Jarvis Landry, and La'ell Collins among a few others.

They aren't. All of these players that they were supposedly interested in and they don't draft a single one? The La"el Collins situation is a perfect example. All of this popping up hours before the draft, the Saints being 80 miles from LSU has the advantage over everyone. All they have to do is drive up the road and talk to Collins his coaches and Miles directly. They made no attempt at all. No, they can sell it however they want but they clearly have some reason they won't even look at LSU players and its not just a accident.
