Something about when Saints had to play at Tiger Stadium.

Discussing how the Saints could pass on Deon Jones who now leads the Falcons in tackles and interceptions.

Fun fact: Coach O coached under Payton in 2008.

Scuffle of some sort. No other details stated.

Yea, Benson got into it with some media/fans leaving one of the games.

We've drafted from LSU since then. Not to mention that there were other players that we absolutely loved going into the draft like Beckham and Hill.

I believe the Saints also hosted LSU for a recruiting camp this past offseason

A scuffle. Yes thats it. Pass on better players because of a scuffle. Makes perfect sense now.

I don't understand it either. Does it have anything to do with SPs bama bias?

I used to make fun of the BECAUSE LSU people because they were largely dimwits, but lately LSU has definitely given the NFL a good track record of churning out quality and outstanding NFL talents year over year.

The Saints should be paying attention this season. And it's not like the Saints aren't interested in LSU players...they were linked in past drafts to players like Jeremy Hill, Odell Beckham, Jr., Jarvis Landry, and La'ell Collins among a few others.

How the Saints missed on La'el Collins is beyond belief. To say that all the other teams missed on him is no excuse. The Saints are only 75 miles down the road from LSU. They had the inside track to know every aspect of Collins as a player, person and know every inside detail of the issue. Wasting a pick on Grayson and passing on Collins cannot be excused. There is clearly something wrong in the scouting department and the direction given by either Loomis or Payton (who know which is really in charge of talent selection).

For the last time, the Saints were interested in Collins. Collins was more interested in the Cowboys.

Why didn't they draft him then in the 6th? 50% of them don't even make the squad. Seems like minimal risk for a HUGE reward?

Over rated in HS. Total bust at LSU. Saints figured it was our coaching and they could fix him.

Then they realized Woods was junk. They probably still blame LSU who left Woods on the bench.

He was not to be drafted by anyone! This has been discussed so many times!!! He became a free agent and wanted Dallas! Period!!! The Saints did in fact want him. Again, he wanted......Dallas.

The NFL told teams not to draft him. Given that the Saints organization and Payton has been fricked by the NFL countless times, it would have made sense to at least spend a 7th round on him...

I am not an NFL insider, but I do like to listen to Detillier on AFR on Thursdays. In one of those segments Collins and the Saints came up and Mike was certain that the fix was in on Collins getting drafted by any team.

I don't know how much I believe it but I would think it has merit because after the Draft Collins was courted by almost every single NFL team, including the Saints. And it's no surprise that one of the wealthiest franchises with one of the wealthiest and hands-on owners on the cusp of contending landed him.

Brilliant. I also love how you made assertions, like how the Saints probably blame LSU, with zero to back it up.

Still playing in the NFL btw, so maybe it was LSU's coaching if LSU "left Woods on the bench"

He was a 5 star who stat the bench until 2009. Glad you rolled on the ground thinking he was a great player. He sucked. Never even player of the game. A bust. You're the idiot.
