10. RICKY RAY (1979): 3 seasons with the Saints at CB. 14 starts. One INT
9. KENO HILLS (1996): Played 3 seasons with the Saints as an offensive lineman. 7 career starts.
8. CHRIS BORDANO (1998): Played 2 seasons with the Saints, making 18 starts at MLB. 84 career tackles.
7. MICHAEL HAWTHORNE (2000): Played 3 seasons for the Saints, making 7 starts. One career INT, one career fumble recovery.
6. TERRY STIEVE (1976): Started 16 games at guard in 2 seasons with the Saints. Then he went to the Cardinals and started at guard for six seasons.
5. JAMES WILLIAMS (1990): Backup ILB to the "Dome Patrol." 2 INTs with the Saints. 89 tackles in 1993.
4. GLENN REDD (1981): 5 years with the Saints. 36 career starts. 2 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries.
3. FLOYD TURNER (1989): 1,808 receiving yards with the Saints, including 927 in 1991. Saints leading receiver in 1991.
2. JOHNNIE POE (1981): Started every game at CB from 1981 to 1986. 17 career INTs. 6 career fumble recoveries. 2 career pick-sixes.
1. FRED McAFEE (1991): 17 year career, 10 with Saints. Was one of the best all-around special teams players in team history. Saints leading rusher in 1991. 2002 Pro Bowler.
NOT REALLY HONORABLE MENTION, BUT THEY ALSO PLAYED IN THE NFL (many never with the Saints ever but are better than half the list):
CLIFF PARSLEY
MIKE BUCK
RONALD DIXON
MARC BULGER
J.T. O'SULLIVAN
JOHN GILMORE
Please let me know of any mistakes or oversights.

If people like this make the top 10 it's time to shorten the list to top 5.

I thought Mike buck started a few seasons. Maybe not

He did once throw an awesome flea flicker when Bobby pretended to be injured on the previous play.

Without looking it up.... What college did Fred Mcafee go to?

I ain't gonna lie--I felt dirty putting Keno Hills on the list. But it's either that or put Marc Bulger and J.T. O'Sullivan, who never played with the Saints, on the list.

I seem to remember Keno Hills as the guy who held Willie Roaf's glasses while the offense was on the field. So there's that.

Both Johnnie Poe and Floyd Turner were better players than Fred McAfee, and that's not really a knock on Fred

I love Fred but I'd have to choose a productive WR or CB over a really good ST gunner

When comparing that really good ST player to a one hit wonder at WR or an okay CB, it was close. Turner didn't do anything of note besides 1991. Poe was a serviceable CB but nothing special.
I gave it to McAfee out of respect. The guy was an average talent at best who found a niche and almost played 2 decades. If he wasn't the best at special teams coverage in the 90's-00's in the league, the list was short ahead of him.

Johnnie Poe was better than serviceable. He started at CB for us for 5 or 6 years. He was a good player.
Turner was considered a future breakout player and was getting national attention when he tore his knee up. I was happy for him when he fought back to be a productive WR for the Colts.
Like I said, I have nothing against Fast Freddy. We can agree to disagree.
