10. TERRY SCHMIDT (1974): Two-year starter at CB for the Saints, with 5 INTs and 4 fumble recoveries. Is better known for his years with the Bears.
9. DON McCALL (1967): Was the Saints leading rusher in 1968 with 637 yards. Had 884 rushing yards in 3 years with the Saints.
8. KENNY STILLS (2013): Saints top deep threat in 2013 and 2014 with 1,572 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Traded to Miami in 2015.
7. DAVE LAFARY (1977): Occasional offensive line starter for the Saints. 109 games in New Orleans, started 58. Played for the Saints for 9 years.
6. TORRANCE SMALL (1992): Starting WR for Saints in 1996. 2,160 receiving yards as a Saint and 18 offensive touchdowns. Had a 200-yard receiving day vs. the Broncos in 1994.
5. TONY ELLIOTT (1982): Four-year starter at NT, mostly for Jim Mora's early teams. Could have been a star, but his career and life were ruined by drugs.
4. THOMAS MORSTEAD (2009): Known for "Ambush." Saints punter for 7 years thus far. Averages over 46 yards per punt. 2012 Pro Bowler
3. MIKE KARNEY (2004): Saints starting FB for the better part of 5 years. Was a major contributor to 2006 NFC Championship team. Probably best-known for his 3-TD game at Dallas on national TV.
2. TYRONE HUGHES (1993): One of the best returners in the NFL during the early-mid 1990s. Led the NFL in kick returns for 3 years and punts for 1 year. 5 career return TDs, 2 more on defense. Has the 4th, 5th and 6th all time seasons for all purpose yards in team history. 1993 Pro Bowler. Holds the NFL record for most return yards in a game and tied an NFL record with 2 kick return TDs in one game.
1. CARL NICKS (2008): Four year starter for the Saints. Starter at guard on 2009 Super Bowl team. Two Pro Bowls. 2011 first team All Pro. Career ended prematurely due to staph injury in Tampa Bay.

You build your team around rounds 3-7. You have to stock pile picks (look at the patriots). Rounds 3-7 are when the NFL scouts make their money. You have to find that hidden gem. Example: Marques Colston. Allen Hurns for Jacksonville was an Undrafted free agent

Sure, but it seems kinda fast that we're already including RBs with less than 1,000 career rushing yards and one-year kick returners.

I actually considered saying "frick it" and putting Damian Swann on the list.

Should prob add Morstead to your list. Onome Ojo and Rob Ninkovich would also be nice additions to your Honorable mentions.

Ninkovich should be #2 on that list.

ETA: Good job on the lists.

np. These lists are great, thanks for sharing.

I started digging after seeing such an underwhelming list for 5th rounders. I found it interesting how many names popped out to me as I thought, "surely this one is an oversight." A little more digging made me realize that my blind hope or optimism for guys like Rodney Leisle and DeMario Pressley overtook their actual historic performance.

I was born in 1987 and Tyrone Hughes was my favorite Saints player in those formally fandom years. All through my years playing sports I always wore 33 cause of him. Still one of my favorite Saints even though I don't remember much of him playing.
