In the 4 games Rankins has played, he has posted 2 sacks and 2 FFs. Fairley has also posted 1 sack in that time. Ellerbe has blitzed through wide holes for 3 sacks.

4 games of good consistent pressure and defense turning it around. A good thing to have with a rotation of Fairley-Rankins-Onyemata-Davison, all play the run well and have pass rushed well because of fresh legs.

Solid reasoning, but for once I'd like someone else to overpay for our FAs.

He's doing a great job. Can't imagine our defense without him.

Say he signs a 15mil/yr deal with another team and we don't sign a DT in free agency worthwhile, that'd get us a comp pick right?

Didn't he sign a Loomis cap gimmick deal where he got a 1 year deal on a 3 year payment plan for the Saints? You'd have to finish making the payments on this year in addition to whatever else you gave him. I'm not against keeping him if it works out, but if we couldn't afford him this year...

Is Fairley the type of guy who will be super pumped to face his former mates on Sunday?

There is no gurantee. But what can be guranteed is that the Patriots would receive a 2nd round pick for it.

GOTTA keep him.

Hopefully he REALLY loves playing here and will give us a bit of a discount. We are building something special, he has to see that.

Our D has stepped up big time since we started getting healthy recently, starting with sacks galore. And he's honestly been leading the charge this season.

Omg.. Don't even get me started on that. Absolutely priceless how the Chiefs game isn't talked about as another game we should've had. It's just not as BAD as the others. Never thought I'd see a 5-6 team rhat should be 9-2..
