quote:

David Griffin on Zion Williamson: “I think it’s a matter of all the objective metrics we can have on where he is at and how he feels lining up. And to this point they haven’t.” Until that happens, Griff said, Z won’t be cleared for 5-on-5.

quote:

Said metrics are based on things they can measure in the weight room in terms of flexibility & court speed. Also Z’s reaction to how he feels after each exercise. “When he feels like him, he’ll tell us he’s ready for the next phase. And to this stage he hasn’t felt like that.”

Same bullshite we heard with Ingram

On Z’s potential availability, Griff said they wouldn’t be in a position to get him 5-on-5 work prior to play-in games. “Based on today, our best possible outcome if everything lined up perfectly maybe you’re in a position to practice prior to a 1st round or during a 1st round.”

quote:

Griff added “it’s really hard. We may never get to that point either. If it’s not a situation where all those things align and he feels the way he needs to feel, then we’re not gonna let him go to the next phase.”

Yeah I think Griff is trying his best to NOT throw Zion under the bus but it’s pretty clear, for whatever reason, Zion doesn’t feel like himself and isn’t ready to play.

I think it’s best we just forget about him ever playing again this season.

I think it's the opposite.

Zion has always been the guy that is reportedly trying to skip steps and rush to get back to the court.

Then he’s either in denial or just fricking stupid. Could be both. He has to realize he’s a professional athlete and has to take care of himself. He’s clearly not doing that and thinks he can just roll out of the bed and play

Direct quote from Griff:

“He had gotten to 3-on-3 on court. And just didn’t feel the next day or the next two days after that the progression made sense. He hasn’t been re-injured. He hasn’t even reported soreness. It’s more of like a hesitancy.”

This doesn’t sound like someone that’s rushing to get back

This is just not the time to try and get a guy reintroduce to the team. If it was 10-15 games left ok, but every game now is must win. Do y'all remember how bad BI looked when he came back, with these quotes Zion would look horrible out there and only hurt the team. If dude loves basketball so much like he claims he needs to do everything in his power to get his body right which is obvious he doesn't do right now. I thought after last season he would realize this but here we are again now I fear he will never get his mind right.

“When I feel like me, I’ll play…”
Sounds more like a weak arse pussy that is scamming than a player that gives a f—k.

It's really hard to feel like "your old self" when you've rarely been hurt most of your career and haven't been on the court. If he's not overweight and severely out of shape, he needs to trust himself and his body and just get out there and play.

With all due respect I think Griff is full of shite. He’s a snake. Never believe anything he says because he’s likely lying. For four years we have heard about Zion wanting to move past all these stages and get on the court. Every time he’s been given a voice he’s said “you guys know me, I want to play.” But now I’m supposed to believe he’s choosing not to play? Don’t buy it.

"Objective Metrics"

He's saying that Zion weighs too much in the nicest way possible.
