Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of "a handful" of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn't included on that list.

This could help open up marketplace on a trade for Davis between now and Thursday 3 p.m. deadline, creating stronger offers to Pels. No matter destination, Davis has no plans to sign extension this summer. The plan is signing a new deal in July of 2020, once he opts out.

what's the deal with Boston? Is it a tactic simply to pressure us into making the move now vs. the summer?

I would think so. Kyrie staying in Boston and not going to New York is wrapped up in all of this so Boston would be more willing to take risk in an AD trade. Also that makes this look like something leaked by the Knicks.

Also, I posted this same thread a minute later, changed the title to delete and it's already gone. Do we have an admin now?

Probably a litany of BS, the foremost of which is what you mentioned.

as this whole saga unfolds, I'm hoping more and more we end up with the Knicks' pick @ #1.. I just get the feeling that whatever players we get from Boston will come down here and sulk for three years before demanding a trade

See, this is a good start. It gets everyone off the "He will only sign in LAL" bull crap and expanding horizons.

My guess is his list is a bunch of teams we wouldn't trade with: NYK, LAL, GSW, Houston, maybe Brooklyn.

Showing my CBA ignorance, but can AD not do a sign and trade and keep his money?

Can't be traded for a year after signing the DPE.

If he signed his super max he’d have to wait another yr, I believe, to be traded

Which is what most smart ppl would have done

- AD is not a Free Agent, so he can only be traded right now. Signing and trading is for free agents typically going to a team that lacks the cap space to sign them.
- If AD is traded he cannot keep the SuperMax contract the Pels can offer him that he has already said don't bother too.

But still, its a start. Its no longer LAL or Bust.

4-5 months is a long time.

By June he might be saying "Whatever team will get me out of here I will sign with" and be happy to go to Boston.

We wouldn’t trade with NYK?

All in all just another attempt by Klutch to control the situation as much as possible while hoping to expedite the process. Perhaps they have come to terms with the fact LAL is out of the running and are trying to expedite a trade by starting an early bidding war. Either way, I think the Pelicans should stand firm until after the lottery.

Crewz, any of this increase the chance of a pre deadline deal?

Poorly worded, I kind of meant in addition to the ones we've discussed.

We wouldn't trade him to GSW or Houston or Dallas or SAS.

I think it's almost a concession by Klutch that there will be no trade before the deadline, and that he isn't being traded to LA. It's a minimum a concession that the current package that LA is offering isn't going to get the job done. We all knew that, but some delusional people thought that it was still going to happen.
