Feels like bitching about the refs is all anyone does anymore. Not talking just about Pels. It's everywhere every time a team loses. It's like the biggest job a coach should have is staying up the refs arses all game. It's like watching hockey for the fights or nascar for the crashes. It's a side show that's become the main attraction. Somehow bitching, whining and moaning has become a sign of toughness. The refs don't care who wins. They blow some calls. Basketball is no fun to watch if 75% of the game comes down to how you work or don't work over the refs. How about the refs call the game and the players play the game and the coaches coach the game.
If you think the problem is about “bitching about the refs.” You have completely missed the point. Theres a litany of problems that concern the refs that have nothing to do with them. When 3 of your quietest players get ejected, a defender dives at your star players knee without any repercussions, and you thoroughly lose a game after calling your team soft in the most important stretch of your team and coaching career- you get on the presser and instead of having your adults player’s backs and coming together as a TEAM, you preach about keeping your composure and taking the loss. It means you have no idea how these players feel, you don’t stand up for them, you don’t take accountability for your own asinine rotations and coaching, you don’t use it as a tool to galvanize the team and you completely don’t understand what it means to be a head coach in this league. Last night was the worst NBA head coaching job I’ve ever seen- from x and os, rotations, game adjustments, understanding how to deal with your teams emotions, dealing with unfair referees and finally approaching a presser blaming the players and stating we need to take the L. Willie Green proved last night he is not ready to take the next step and to move forward Griffin needs to move off Green.
