He does take a lot of dumb threes, much like BI taking a lot of dumb mid range shots. It’s what happens late in the shot clock and someone has to shoot the ball.
Difference is, a whole bunch of 3s at 36% is essentially league average scoring efficiency.

But that number is more efficient than any shot BI takes except for BI shots at the rim.

But Trae does get fouled a lot,.

Clips are pretty set with Harden. I can see Lakers wanting him but with his defensive issues and their lack of defenders on the wing- (unlike us who have defensive wings) I can’t see it making them better. I think they prefer Dejounte.

He fired Klutch and signed with CAA.

Trae’s agent is Rich Paul. If LeBron wants him in LA, he will find a way to force him to LA.

It was announced just a few days ago that he left Clutch for CAA.

Which is also Zion’s agency. Dejounte is still with Clutch.

You don’t have to convince me Shel.
I would much rather Trae.
I was being a jackass with the “just shoot more 3’s”.

I’m not saying it’s not. I’m asking is the whole going to be worth more than the sum of its parts. In this instance, I believe that the best version of Zion as a player and the best version of Trae as a player do not exist on the same team. If we are dedicating a majority of our cap to them, I’d prefer a better fit on both ends of the court

You mean the Lakers are out there saying they want Trae but since they don’t have shite to give up, they have to frame it like Trae will only go to LA.

Or the Hawks are saying this to make sure we make an offer that’s clearly better than the lakers.

I doubt the Clippers are interested. Moving one $50M guy for another isn’t what they are trying to do this offseason, imo.

Because if you think BI hated point-Zion, wait until we get Trae Young on the team.

Zion and Trae are very good friends, I don’t think you have that issue here

Outside of AD, what can the Lakers offer of note?

A lot of their picks are tied up and their main young talent of note right now is Reaves.

The fact that this happened, means almost assuredly that he's not going to the Lakers.

They likely will have this years pick since we will defer to next year. And they’ll be elgible to trade other picks as well. They also said they would be open to trading Reaves if they would get a star in return.

The absolute best they could do is Reaves, DLo, Hood-Schifino, 3 firsts and 2 pick swaps. And that’s if DLo opts in. They’d also have to include some another contract just to make the money work.

I’m not the biggest fan of Trae, but a lot of teams can beat that offer. Hence why they need Trae to leak out that he only wants go to the Lakers.

They can trade 3 firsts (one with limited value because it's pick 17 this season), Reaves as an asset, and Rui as salary filler.

A. what does that get you?

B. would the Lakers even do that and bet on trying to win another championship with a 40 year old LeBron?

Trading Reaves isn’t the problem. It is Atlanta getting what they see as a good package for a rebuilding team.

The players sent out would be Reaves, Rui, and Vanderbilt, which are owed about $40m between them.

The picks are no greater than-

24
27 (top 4 only)
29 or 30

Swap rights for 26, 28, and for any other years not already traded.

That ain’t a great offer if they see Trey as a dollar or a quarter rather than a dime or a nickel.

3 firsts

They can’t actually send 3 guaranteed firsts.

They can send 24 and one of 29 or 30 outright.

They can only offer 27 if it is top 4 and would have to offer conditions should it not convey.
