Who are the REAL New Orleans Hornets?

My co-writer at HoopDat wrote an article yesterday that really scared me. You really don't have to read it to give input (link is below if you do), just know that the article basically states that the Hornets "are who we thought they were." By this, he means that before the season, most NBA analysts picked the Hornets to finish right around 8th or 9th, and that's the kind of team they really are right now, nothing more. Realistically speaking, do you guys think that's true? I'm more of an optimist, but I am kind of worried that his write-up has some truth to it...
What's Wrong with the Hornets?

i honestly feel that, we are a good sixth seed with our heads on straight. but in likelyhood we are a low seed. so i guess either you could possibly be correct.

I agree. Most thought this team would miss the playoffs and be either @ .500 or a few games from it. Looks like that's where the team is headed.

Oak is back and healthy, Green is outplaying everyone's expectations, Belli has been more consistent off the bench than as a starter, Landry has been great and he's still getting acclimated, and now even Jarrett Jack is getting shite done. Ariza still gives you the defense and West the offense that they did during our runs. It's all on CP. If he continues to play like a legit bottom 5 PG over 30+mpg, we're a 8th-10th seed. If he plays at an all star level (not elite, all star), we're a 5th seed that can make some noise in the playoffs.

Make some noise!!? PFfft. If the hornets win a playoff series this year, ill never post on this board AGAIN!

Short-term, WE as fans need to accept that this Hornets team is not a contender. They are first round fodder for one of the true contenders
This team has to do it with effort and execution rather than superior talent, but it has had 2 pretty impressive streaks and has absolutely dominated quality opponents many times this year. Those wins weren't flukes. I'd say the Hornets have a 50/50 chance to win any series they are in. The one caveat is that the Lakers and Thunder would be match up problems.

Won't matter bc they won't even make the playoffs.

Liar, you know you couldn't stay away. So who are y'all going to go after when they fire Morey and Adelman for missing the playoffs?

I'm 99% sure you said this early in the season regarding the Rockets having a better record than the Hornets over the first 20 or 30 games.

didn't you say something about not posting on here again (or living) if the rockets didn't do something... and the Hornets are going to make the playoffs.. if we do, get your posting (trollling) rights provoked.

I want to see how we respond tonight against a solid Memphis team after getting our asses handed to us by the Knicks. If they put up a good showing they would be what I think they are a solid 5-6th seed in the west. If we lose or get blown out I would just hope we somehow make the playoffs. I hope they start playing great defense again, or we won't last long.

Im the kind of person who believes what my eyes tell me.....I don't see this team making the playoffs, sadly

Just an FYI you can edit your original post instead of needing to make a new one.
