do you enjoy long walks on the beach?

i bet your tinder profile says you're just a country boy at heart looking for that girl who will complete him...and that you've gotten burned in the past but still have faith that you'll find a girl that will teach you how to love again

Well, lets start it off by asking you who you are hearing will be brought in as Assistants.

All of the statements made from the Warriors side of things say Gentry's full focus will be on them until they win the Finals. Maybe he gave a short list to Demps to start some of the ground work, but it's possible we won't hear anything until the season is over and he officially takes over as HC.

I am here to discuss the Pelicans. I won't get into the personal stuff. Others will, I anticipate, and I have learned to just ignore it. You can't change people like that who go to that level IMO.

Now, funny, I can do in good spirit. I love funny. And I also LOVE when people disagree with me, contrary to popular opinion. As long as people use my actual arguments when they disagree (no straw men) and keep the singular goal of informing the fan base. Nothing better than a great disagreement to kill dogmas and raise knowledge levels.

I know some of you don't trust my sources, which is fine. Though I will unequivocally say they are top notch and everybody on BSS would back me up on that.

And the Pelicans source said this process was fully underway and is currently ongoing. Gentry is working with Golden State but he has already spoken to several candidates and is continuing to talk to them throughout the Finals preparation.

I know Don Newman is a guy on the list. Igor Kokosov is very, very likely. More names will emerge.

Who cares. If MM is going to associate himself with an account any thread Aced posts in doesn't turn into an "okay MM" thread. Less drama. More basketball.

A MM-type could be very useful to this board, but...I have a few questions:

1. Why introduce yourself as yourself on a message board? To me, it comes across as arrogant.

2. Is there an ulterior motive to you joining now? It does make business sence.

3. Why do you wait until now to join? Becuase of the bad language and immature sentiment? Nah, I call bs. I think that you're attempting to recruit Pels fans. Which is fine; just say it.

Interesting name.

quote:

Kokoskov, 43, has spent 14 seasons as an assistant coach in the NBA, most recently with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2013-14 campaign. During his tenure on an NBA bench, Kokoskov’s teams have made six conference finals appearances, two NBA Finals trips and captured one NBA World Championship.

Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Kokoskov spent five seasons with the Phoenix Suns from 2008-13. He also spent five seasons with the Detroit Pistons from 2003-08, reaching the conference finals in each campaign and earning the 2004 NBA title.

In 2000, Kokoskov became the first full-time, non-American assistant coach in NBA history, when he was named to Alvin Gentry’s staff with the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent three seasons with the Clippers from 2000-03. Kokoskov later became the first non-American assistant to win an NBA championship and also the first to serve on an NBA All-Star Game coaching staff. Kokoskov also owns the distinction of being the first European coach to hold a full-time position with an NCAA Division I-A school, when he served as an assistant at the University of Missouri during the 1999-00 season under Quin Snyder, now head coach of the Utah Jazz.

A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Kokoskov owns extensive international experience as a head coach and assistant coach. He was an assistant with the Serbian national team at the 2004 Athens Olympics under renowned European coach Zeljko Obradovic. Kokoskov has enjoyed seven successful summers (2008-14) as the national team head coach for the Republic of Georgia. His team has twice qualified for the European Championships during his tenure, something the nation had never done previously. In 2012, his work with the national team earned him the Order of Honour, Georgia’s highest civilian honor.

quote:Yeah. No thoughts. Those guys have fun over there. It's not a real board IMO. Kind of a bunch of people blowing off steam, trying to be edgy or funny IMO. Ethically, I could never go over there because of how often they are homophobic, racist, sexist, etc. Even if its just a joke, I can't support that kind of stuff. But people need a place like that I suppose. Just a shame that there are 2-3 solid posters over there who waste their time trying to talk ball with a bunch of psychos. To each their own.

1. I have seen it done multiple times before on this forum, assumed it was the norm. We like when people do it on PR. Also, I have learned that it doesn't matter what I do -ever. 10-20% will take it as arrogant. If I wouldn't have said anything, I would bet there would have been a select few who said "Man, that McNamara just assumes everyone knows who he is" or "He comes on here, doesn't say it is him and passes off his arrogant opinion."

2. No. And there is no "business". I have never earned a penny doing this. Never will.

3. You can choose to believe what you want to believe. Your choice. But it is the reason. I am sure anybody here notices that this has changed drastically over the last few years. Don't believe me? Watch how little I post here if it goes back to the old way. And it's not "bad language". It is homophobic slurs, sexist remarks, etc. That type of language sinks in subliminally and allows attitudes to be acceptable that I do not find acceptable. Minorities, women, homosexuals, etc. have had it hard in this contry for far too long. What seems like a "joke" to someone unintentionally perpetuates ideas that oppress people. I can't support that.
