Right. The only thing I see to complain about is will QPon be worth his money, a fair question to ask, but the people that don't like the trade seem to think Rivers has some sort of value which has been proven false.

Like you said we are turning Russ into a 2nd most likely for another deal with a team that had no interest in him.

It's a good trade for us and for Rivers. We get a defensive 3 who fits better with our team, and Rivers gets a fresh start where he can get some minutes.

That kid drove me bonkers. His game was pretty terrible, but he tried hard and was always so positive. I wish him nothing but the best, but glad he is moving on.

Yea I don't see where we got "ripped off". AR was worthless to this team. We turned him into a possible contributor and a 2nd round pick. Sounds as good as possible to me.

QPon's contract is the NBA's version of next to nothing. We can easily move that deal any time we want. If all he brings to the table is a defensive presence for 15-20 minutes a game, we did great.

We are one of the better scoring teams in the league. Our defense blows, and QPon can play D.

This board shits on Rivers repeatedly, and now will complain when he gets shipped off?

I swear, we could have traded Rivers for LeBron and this board would find a reason to complain.

Yea I wish him the best. I'm thrilled I don't have to watch him take the ball up court and pick up his dribble with 18 left on the shot clock, then wait another 10 seconds for some one to come get the ball, essentially killing the offense before it has a chance to get started.

With the new cap coming and us already ovet the cap, almost certainly. He is more than a minimum guy, so we would have to use an exception on him. This keeps both exceptions available while also improving the roster.

I never understood the Rivers hate, and I never understood the Rivers love either. He worked hard, but it just didn't work out. I can't be mad at him for that.

It's all about that youth man. And we took in unnecessary salary for a guy that cant score and can play a little d. Rivers was improving idgaf what yall say about him and Russ never even got a chance.

It looks like he improved his FT shot at the expense of his 3. His defense also looked like it had regressed this year. Even if he was improving he's still a below average combo guard, probably the easiest position in the league to find. He will very easily be replaced.

We don't need scoring, brah. We can score. We need players that recognize that when AD is on the court, he is the centerpiece, and when he is not on the court, everything runs through Reke. We need role players than can shore up our perimeter defense, and provide second chance opportunities. Rivers and Russ are none of those things.

The part that is confusing to me is if Salmons/Russ fetch us a 2nd rd pick and Pondexter, and Rivers nets a 2nd from the Clippers, why not do the original deal and ship Rivers out separately? Is Dell really expecting Salmons to be an easily moved piece later on? Wouldn't 2 2nds be easier to move than Salmons + 2nd or am I missing something in regard to the cap?

quincy is 26 going on 27. he isn't ancient. and this team could use a few extra "older" guys. especially ones who have been in the playoffs.

3 mil a year is nothing next year. the cap is going to jump an estimated 7 million from what it currently is. 3 mil is about to become, after the massive expected jump in a few years due to the new TV contracts, the new league minimum. so q pon will be playing for league minimum possibly in his last year of contract.

have you even watched a game? i've been all about giving the guy a chance over the past few years, but he has been regressing. he improves one thing at the expense of another. he is what he is and will not get better in new orleans.

Russ never even got a chance.

he played early in the season and was terrible. i think the coaches and front office can evaluate talent better than you may think.
