Now that Alvin Gentry is our coach, do you think we will still re-sign Asik?

I would think it is now unlikely we resign Asik. Don't really see him as a fit in Gentry's system.

I hope we cut him loose. He has no hands.

Maybe we hired him to recruit Draymond and put AD at center

That will cancel out my disappointment hiring Gentry

MM's source agrees with you

quote:

@McNamara247: On Asik, "We think he can play the same role for us that Bogut plays for Golden State."

Draymond at SF(he's 6'7) and keep Davis at PF, FIFY

Later Asik!!! Just a MFS rental in which a first round pick was wasted on. Demps worse move by far, but its ok bc he's gone now. Thank dear baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

MM has been tweeting quotes from a Pelicans source

I see a lot of people saying Asik can't be similar to Bogut. Go watch Asik when he had space in Houston. You won't recognize him

I will never believe it. It was horrifying to watch him last season, absolutely horrifying. Sign him to a 1 year deal and see what he does, but nothing else. Dude is horrendous on offense.

Bogus does almost nothing on offense. If you have Asik with Davis, Gordon, Holiday, and a 3 and d sf, Asik's weakness won't be so obvious. Spacing is crucial.

He always has space. He never needs to be guarded.
he's the reason the rest of the team doesn't have space.

Wouldn't that just mean more offensive boards for Asik if no one guarded him? I don't think you know what you are talking about.

You sound real knowledgeable.
let me know when you watch Asik play, or a basketball game for that matter

Asik's two years in a wide open, spread offense, he shot 61% from 0-3 feet. In Chicago and New Orleans schemes, 56%, including 55% last year

Asik with 127 dunks 2 years ago in Houston. Just 81 last year. You want him to "go up strong"? Easier to do with space.
