FWIW I've seen lots of rumors in the last week questioning CP3's knee holding up in the long term pushing him to stay in LA for that extra year only the Clippers can offer.

I wonder who CP will choose to replace him.

A source within the Pelicans organization told me the same thing

If the Grizzlies don't give him a new contract, Lionel Hollins is probably who Paul would want the most.

Don't rule out Mike Malone. Top current assistant on most teams' radars, and was an assistant here while CP3 was here. I'm hearing a lot of people suggesting Byron Scott, but I don't see that happening.

After a trip to, at the very least, the WCF, there is no way Memphis would let him walk, is there?

I've never even understood why he was on the hot seat. Did he sleep with the new owner's wife?

Would be a good hire, but I think they go after a name guy.

The Grizzlies would be crazy to let Hollins go

Byron Scott

That's the first person who came to mind. CP3 loves him. He plays an uptempo style which fits what flop city likes. Plus he's an ex-laker which sticks it too the team down the hall.

I'm also wondering what the Lakers do with D'antoni. His style fits the Clippers as well.

Related news - The rumor mill says that the Clip Show makes a big play for West.

That move makes no sense on paper if West is looking to cash in one last time, as Blake will be getting the lion's share of minutes at the 4.

The only reason it makes sense at all, IMHO, is if they are looking for ways to keep CP3 around, such as bringing in as many of his buddies as possible.

Yep, but his contract is about to expire.

They may offer him a new deal but the Clip Show, Nets, etc., could all offer him a huge one if he's the best coach on the market.

Not very difficult at all.
