I freely admit I didn't watch many Sixers games last year.

Everyone hates GV. That's obvious. He's a serviceable starting PG tho. Holiday is better. I get all of that.

I'm just trying to compare values based on stats - I didn't see Holiday play that much last year and his team sucked.

I've already admitted than Holiday is the better player (and with obvious upside), but is he worth 2 first round picks? Is he worth Burke/Mccollum and a 2014 1st rounder? IDK (nobody does but it's worth discussing, right?).

Also, if Holiday was an elite player, Philly wouldn't have traded him for 2 unknowns.

PER is not the be all end all, I'm just looking for ways to compared that aren't based on GV Pels Talk bias.

If he's in fact a better defender than GV that's value, so that's one positive in the trade. I've learned something ITT

Yes. Proven All Star for 2 picks outside of the top 5 whose chances for being as successful as Jrue are very slim.

No one is saying he is elite, but GMs make bad choices all the time. Most basketball analysts think Philly was foolish for doing it. It's gutsy and could either pan out or set them back a long way.

No we don't. There was a huge campaign on here for GV to win the most improved player award. He just wasn't the long term answer at the 1.

Yes they would because of the state of their franchise right now. They are trying to collect as much picks and talent as possible because they truly don't have guys to build around.

We have to start putting quality pieces around AD. Pels think we have a franchise guy to build around, Philly doesn't.
