I remember when people were laughing when Stotts got another job.

That's fair, but D'Antoni has had much higher profile jobs and flamed out, big time.

Dantoni actually makes sense for Harden. Clearly Harden has no interest in defense, so why not a coach that puts that on the back burner but produces high powered offenses when given the right tools?

With that said, that teams peak seems to be the second round under Dantoni. You can't win without defense with today's powerhouses.

Rumor is that Houston will hire Lionel Hollins as an assistant with D'Antoni to have a good offensive and defensive coach on the staff.

I would be down with that.

Personnel matters though

That also likely happened because the GM did not want to sharer/cede power to JVG.

Pelicans have a new rival for last place now. Houston-NOLA is now the NBA's version of Ole Miss-Miss State.

D'Antoni's system needs a point guard to thrive. I guess you could hand it over to Harden and run everything through him, but they'd need to upgrade Beverly for it to work.

Annnnddd he's been hired by Houston.

At least they have a coach as shitty as ours, I guess, cut from the same cloth.
