I guess so. I think its just incredibly apparent without Jrue and Ryno how much of a liability Tyreke's lack of spacing that he creates is. I mean, Gordon was off today but at least they had to bring their shooting guard out to the perimeter to guard the 2 when he was in.

Thats what i've been preaching to all the guys who just want to dump Gordon so we can start Evans. Evans is great in transition, but good teams will be able to clog the paint on him in the half court. If we dump Gordon, we better at least have someone similar to him to replace him with

Not an issue if Ryno is on the court (which, in the future, he will be at the end of games) or if we get a SF that can hit the corner 3 (quite a few can). Jrue can space. You only need one other on the floor with Reke and he can do his thing. Saying that Reke's issues are amplified when we're missing our two best 3 point shooters isn't worrying me. When you''re missing two guys like Jrue and Ryno, your team is fricked regardless.

Dell said we had 10 games with our full team together. 10. Sucks that this early we already have to wait til next year to see these guys play together again.

Yep. I think Jrue/Reke/Ryno/AD is a great core 4. If they can dump EG for expirings and let Aminu, Rivers, and Smiht walk, it looks like they can have around ~$17m (taking into account roster holds) to build around them. Get a solid 3+D SF, some role players, and hold off on that MLE starting center until 2015/16, and you've got something nice going. Or spend everything you can on a SF, adequate starting C to play ~20mpg, and save the MLE for a solid wing to come off the bench.

ETA: Or go all out on Deng for something lie 4/$48 and see if you can get Hawes/Okafor/Gortat/Hill for something like 3/$15, but with Deng you REALLY need Ryno playing alongside him/Reke/Jrue to help spacing, so that leaves one of those centers on the bench to finish games (which is likely the case for whoever we have playing the 5 with AD/Ryno here).

I'd stay away from Deng. Not for that money, and he doesn't fit the "young veteran" mold that we've been building with.

I know i'm in the minority but I don't think Gordon's trade value is as terrible as people think. Over and over we've heard about untradable contracts, and over and over those guys have been dealt. Rudy Gay seems to be public enemy number one(at least among know-it-all, snarky NBA writers) and he's been dealt TWICE on that insane contract.
I understand dumping him for expirings if we have someone targeted this offseason, in free agency. But I just don't see that guy in this free agent class.

Maybe Parsons? But Houston's obviously gonna match just about anything. I'd definitely offer Parsons that Deng deal, and more, though.

No doubt, but remember that it will tie up our money for the first 3 days of FA, and they'll inevitably match. I think that Gordon's value is basically expiring contracts, though. I know McNamara keeps bringing up EG for Ben Gordon. I think that makes sense for both teams (since Charlotte is such a mess that they'll have to overpay for FAs anyway, plus they need a scorer).

Ben Gordon is completely worthless. EG hustled hard tonight, his shots just didn't fall and he got no calls all night.

Jrue can hit a three. I think he and Evans play well together.

If Gordon can keep healthy and keep playing the way he's been playin recently, his trade value will be good come trade deadline. At worst, Dell will be able to dump him at the end of the season.
