Proposed Trade:

New Orleans Pelicans receive Terrence Ross, James Johnson

Phoenix Suns receive Ryan Anderson

Toronto Raptors receive Markieff Morris

Obviously a couple of draft picks and perhaps some cash would need to be involved to make the trade work and utlimately appeal to every organization in this deal.

no idea if he has a source on this or is just spitballing...i might be very tempted to swap out a redundant one-way player for a real NBA wing

I'd be alright with that trade but might prefer patrick patterson

I'm with Lobos in preferring Patterson, but this may be a good deal for us. Cunningham can play the 4 with Johnson and Ross could be a solid scorer off the bench.

Was about to make a thread this morning emphasizing if we get this Ryno back, then he has 6th man of the year possibilities. I would hold off on any trades until we see him in the new system, same goes for Tyreke Evans...

I don't hate the idea of the trade, but I really want to see what Anderson looks like with Gentry. I don't watch many Raptors game, but I feel like to make this trade Ross would either have to bring a different skill set, or be an upgrade over Pondexter for this trade to make sense. For anyone who's seen him play the last season or so, are either of those true?

2 yrs ago he looked on the verge of a breakout as an uber-3&d wing. last year he looked lost

its a conundrum, and a very real risk

That's exactly what I remember the perception of him being from the last two years. If trading Ryno, I'd hope to get back either a clear upgrade (maybe packaged with another player/pick to make it happen), or give us something that we're currently missing from the roster (a true back up 4 to play with Davis, someone like Patterson, Terrance Jones, or Morris for example).

Ryan Anderson has the potential to be a better version of Channing Frye in this offense. I would really hold off on wanting to ship him out. He is tailor made for Gentry's offense.

Ross hasn't done much and Oleh pumps up his defensive production a little too much (tiwgos- his DRPM on ESPN is the same as Anderson's). He can hit 3s, but is he really that much better than Alonzo Gee?

Like others have said, healthy Anderson can be valuable and is maybe the best player in the deal. That guy is worth more than 2 journeyman wings on this roster right now.

If they are eager to move Anderson, I agree with Lobos. Patterson would be a better deal and fit for the Pels.

We thought we had a top 5 3 big rotation last offseason, and on paper I'd say we did. Combine that with the general consensus that Monty didn't fit this roster and I think you really do have to wait and see what happens. There's no reason to make a move right now unless it's an obvious win.

My other issue with the article is that they label it as a rumor. Is it a rumor, or is it just speculation/a trade idea? I'm assuming it's the latter.

Likely the latter

We do know that Markieff desperately wants out

I'd love PJ Tucker
