Uh if anything he doesn't look for his offense enough.

I don't think you can get a first for Holiday, let alone a first and open up cap space. No real market.

Jackson is too similar to Evans for me. Score first, ball dominant guard with a limited jumper. He's a good player, but not a good fit in NO

Obviously you haven't watched all the games then. He goes on frequent spurts where he decides to take the game upon himself to score and play hero ball like Evans, regardless of whether or not his shots are in the flow of the offense. It's maddening. I can't tell you how many times he runs down the court and 5 seconds into the shot clock takes an off balance floater or fade away jumper

This was not meant to be a troll, this was meant to bring up discussion.

Stress fractures are no joke. Only way to heal/prevent is to rest. I think Jrue is an average PG at best.

I personally think it's time to move on... I guess that seems idiotic to some peoeple?

6.3% of Jrue's shots are taken before the shot clock hits 18 seconds. LINK / How many of those are off balance floaters I can't say, but it looks like you're basing your argument on a gross exaggeration.

What's idiotic is you thinking that's an option. If this is a serious long term condition he'll be as untradeable as Gordon has been.

You don't bring up a bad point...if Jrue misses the rest of the year, I think the label "injury prone" will begin to start following him around and with how well the Pels are playing at the moment I see your thinking

But our win streak could just be because we are playing weaker teams

I do think we need to find a better combination of minutes and scheme with Jrue, Reke, & EG...but at the moment Jrue has skills the others do not possess and he has not (IMO) hit the "injury prone" mark yet

But if he does hit that injury prone point...it will be a whole lot tougher to move him

I don't think there is another option if he misses half of the season every year, do you?

That's not necessarily idiotic.

you cant tell me because he hardly EVER does that. you couldnt possibly be more wrong if you tried

have you not seen the pace this team plays at?

jrue holiday is the one off-the-bounce shooting threat this team has. he doesnt shoot enough, drive enough, or go to the foul line enough

we need more jrue, not less

No. Not even close. Not even worth discussing. Second most important player on this team, as well as the second best player on this team.

He has played in 387/457 (85%) possible games in his career. What a bum.

All of that goes without saying that replacing him with even remotely comparable talent would require the team to give up assets that it does not currently have.

What's idiotic is thinking you can part ways with a seriously injured player with 2 more years left on his deal after this year. You either have to wait it out, package him with a 1st the offseason before he's expiring, or take back a worse contract. Whether you think he's great or average, the only good outcome for the Pelicans is for him to be healthy.

I reckon you're right. However, I think we might need to start looking for a new PG for the future. I don't think he's the guy to take us to the next level with AD, especially if he's injured.

The was before the STRESS FRACTURE came about. How many games has he played out of games possible in NO?

Like I've said before, this typically a recurring injury and obviously it is in Jrue's case.

He actually played on his stress reaction last year(and because he did it turned into a fracture) he's stated this recently.

He at least caught it this time before it got worse and is resting it now.

And jrue is not being traded. I highly highly doubt its even an idea.

I also doubt he'll be traded... it'd be admitting another fail by the FO.

Still like the way the team is playing right now though. Just wanted to start some discussion.

It really isn't once it properly heals. And with the right physical therapy, it is actually less likely to occur in the future.

Playing through it, like he did last year, is the worst thing you can do for it. It is an overuse injury and it fricking sucks

Is this through personal experience? I don't really know much about the lasting effects of stress fractures so hearing that it's something a guy can get fully healthy from and not worry about re-injuring it is comforting

He's one of the four players that actually makes us a good team.

We'd better have a great contingency plan.

Yes. Realized something was seriously wrong on mile 10 of a 19 mile run.

The biggest problem is that you think you're completely healed when you aren't. The pain stops occurring when you walk, so you think you can do something with higher impact. It takes time to heal.
