This has been the most depressing season in recent memory for me

With the somewhat high expectations going in..only to have two of our better players out for most of the year and we end up looking just as bad as last season. What makes it even more depressing is that even though we'll have one of the worst records in the league, we probably won't be able to keep our pick.

Disappointing but understandable. Losing Ryan Anderson, Holliday, and Smith are pretty big blows. Anderson was our leading scorer when he went down, Holliday was relatively consistent and our assist leader, Smith was a consistent 10-14 a night. Tough to replace that.

Last season we expected to suck. Plus there was hope with cap space + pick.

I think expecting to at least make a run at a 7 or 8 seed was reasonable, you know, sort of like we did in 2006-07 season.

Exactly. We actually had some positive expectations for this season. Not a playoff run but at least a shot at the playoffs.

They were playoffs or near playoffs. Jesus christ dude, if you think they weren't higher than being one of the worst fricking teams in the league without a pick, then you're crazy

We aren't tanking buddy. Injuries have stripped us. And we suck. Bottom 5 in the NBA suckage. People need to learn and accept this.

I hear you whodat, expectations were certainly higher than worst team in the league, but I suppose I should've been clearer in my question. I wasn't paying attention before the season, and really wanted to know if expectations were that high.

It sucks, but you can't expect a young team like the Pelicans to be able to overcome the injuries they had this season. Plus our coach alone appears to have cost us some games with the strangest rotations ever. I think healthy this team would be in the hunt for a playoff spot. You also have to realize that the West took an extreme jump forward with the West being by far the stronger conference. If the Pelicans were healthy and in the East they would easily make the playoffs.

Maybe we get lucky and get to keep our pick, but regardless I think there is still a good outlook with the future of the Davis-Holiday duo.

The year before we drafted AD was still worse.

You shouldn't be that depressed about the season, we have a decent team but injuries have made us bad.

With a healthy lineup, another year of playing together and hopefully a new coach that's worth a shite, this team can be really good.

It could be worse, we could have no hope in sight for years, now that is depressing.

I think what makes it worse is that after we drafted AD, morale was at an all time high. We had the best player in college basketball, and a lot of cap space. A few bad players later, we're still bad, and that cap space is gone with no light at the end of the tunnel.

Holiday and Anderson are very good players.

Gordon is a good player making about an extra $5 million a year.

I personally think Evans is a good player, but because how he has been used it is hard to tell how much he is really overpaid.

Alexis Ajinca looks legit for his small contract.

Jason Smith, Anthony Morrow, and Austin Rivers appear to be nice bench players on decent contracts.

Our coaching seems odd. I am a person who isn't against a change depending on who the candidates will be.

The idea this team is really that bad is kind of ridiculous. Also it is almost unfair to disregard the western conference is so much better than the Eastern Conference.

If we somehow lucked into Parker or Wiggins this team could end up scary good. I think the team should be able to improve the roster during the offseason anyways since the team already has solid pieces.
