With his recent injury its safe to assume he's done for the season. I also believe he won't be re-signed, he does fit the system but his bad defense and tendency to get hurt along with the disconnect with the fan base makes it unlikely. So here the tribute to Gordon and his 5 years of cornering stones in Nola.

End of a era

5 long years of cornering stones in Nola. He grew as a person not a player but he went to an immature arse hole to one of the most community orientated players.

Thought we had a legit star after he nailed that game winner against Phoenix.

What could have been...

Can't wait to see a Pels roster that doesn't include EG.

One of my favorite Eric Gordon moment when he was tweeting about watching a college game while the Hornets was playing and he was hrut. Its also funny we though we could trade him he really did have one of the worst must untradable contracts.

Let's hope it doesn't include Ryan Anderson on a max contract as well

he's actually been extremely involved in the community over the past few years, maybe moreso than any other player. since his comments after the whole PHX thing, he's said nothing bad.

nor done anything bad. he owned up to it, called himself immature, and gave his all for this city and team.

yet some people will continue to ignore that and refer to his phoenix comment. Looking back, I would still make the same comment. This franchise has to have the worst trainers/medical staff in the league. Players who were never injured or rarely injured are coming here and breaking something like its the cool thing to do.

What hope is there for an oft-injured SG? He's lucky he isn't crippled right now.

I said that at the bottom, but fans still don't like him. If you go around the city or to games jersey rankings are

1. AD

2. Tyreke

3. Jrue

4. Ryan

I have yet to see anyone where EG shirts or jerseys

I think you may have to separate the training staff from the medical staff. We have 2 instances where we know the team operated against medical advice with Jrue and QPon. I do wonder what effect having a long time football trainer is having, but with major instances of the team going against doctors orders, I wonder if the problem isn't that we need to replace the doctors but give them more authority.

I thought about separating it based off players going against medical advice, but then I saw players continue to play on a "sprain" or "minor issue" only to be diagnosed 2-3 days later with something severe and season ending.

Not sure if its the players ignoring it originally or the fact that it was seen/caught too late.

It's definitely something worth discussing. Whether it's the training staff, medical staff, or just the coaches ignoring advice, something needs to be changed.

A day or so before Tyreke came back he was quoted that he wasn't 100%, but was going to give it a shot. Coming off of a knee surgery, and after what happened to Q-Pon, seems a little strange that they would let him play so soon.

I think our biggest faults are having injury prone players, stressing the importance of making the playoffs causing guys to rush back from injuries or ignore them, not letting guys fully heal to prevent further damage. Along with the medical staff not being given a bigger voice.

The picture in the lockeroom with the team still gives me goosebumps. Beating the Spurs on my birthday to clinch a playoff spot is THE memory I'll have with me forever. That and AD's buzzer beater. I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing at those specific times.

But yeah this is the end of the Gordon era. Mixed feelings on this one. Wish him the best.
