We still have a 2nd and there's a guy who's been flying under the radar this season who I think could be there and if he isn't, it wouldn't take a ton to trade up to snag him. We traded 2 seconds to take Diallo last draft in the 2nd so I could see us doing something similar. Point guard out of Oklahoma State Juwan Evans has been very impressive all year. He's averaging like 19 points and 5 assists and has a really solid handle.

Everyone is talking about how deep this draft is for point guards and it is, but if you want your diamond in the ruff for this draft I really think it could be Juwan. Getting a top 3 pick isn't truly realistic right now, it might be in 2 weeks, but it isn't now. Juwan Evans is a realistic get and I think there could be 2-3 other guys that will be there when we pick in the early 2nd.

The other guys who are realistic gets with our early 2nd rounder are Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks, and Dwayne Bacon. I think either of those 3 would be a solid addition as our 2nd round/ 14th/15th guy at worst.

You realize we're one game out from the 4th worst record in the NBA. I'd say top 3 is pretty realistic.

I'm cool with whoever in the 2nd round, except for Grayson Allen. I don't see him having the mental fortitude to make it in the NBA.

G allen will be a fa.

Pay him the minimum, one year deal. A couple of nice performance bonuses. It should be two tiered so he gets paid according to medium and high expectations. He thinks he's all that so he has reason to be glad.

If he has his head on right, thats your steal of the draft.
Let him know that you will waive him first time he acts out.

21.5% chance as it stands. 4th worst record gets 37.8 and we're a game and a half back from there. It's going to be hard to outsuck the Sixers down the stretch. That franchise has perfected tanking.

That said, you're also only 3 games worse than 12th.

You really think Allen leaves Duke if he won't even get drafted? Makes 0 sense.

True, but those are pretty realistic numbers in terms of the lottery. I'm all for getting max value out our 2nd rounder, but top three makes for a much more interesting conversation

I'd be okay with this franchise trading every pick they have for the foreseeable future. Rookies don't help teams win now.

We don't have the luxury of time to develop young players. We need a winner next season who will fill up seats.

Benson's days are numbered. He could keel over any day. Whoever buys the team once he dies is going to be far more likely to keep the team here if the Blender is full.

Silly question but let's say we get the #3 pick in the lottery and keep our pick... do the Kings automatically get our 2018 1st or do they just lose out on the pick all together and all they got was Buddy, Langston & Reke??

Its a time of great pathos.

I hope the pels get #3.

Then the tension becomes whether the top two also need point guards. There have been some great 3rd picks and turrble. Dear warriors picked behemoth out of carolina chris washburn, who was going to lead mullin and marciolonus (sic,sp) to the championship. i was glad. He had a 20 pt opening game and went to drugs and utterly failed. Disappeared.
Mchale and jordan were both #3.
Bias was #3. I liked his game in college.

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. According to Crewz, the pick is deferred to a later year, and that those terms are all negotiated and part of the fine print.

So who do we realistically have a shot at getting with the #3 pick if we trade it?

IDK. Maybe the question should be who can we get rid of if we trade the #3 pick?

All I know is that rookies who make an immediate impact toward helping a team win are few and far between.
