“After the razor thin loss of our justice center and jail sales tax renewal, parish government must now find a way to pay for jail, court and DA state mandated cost from our general fund,” Simpson texted. “Essentially we have $22 million in costs and $15 million in funding. Building, or retrofitting, a venue for a basketball team is unfortunately not a priority at this time.”

My bet is Baton Rouge or lovely Downtown Pensacola near the water. I think Jackson in 3rd, Mobile 4th, and Bossier City 5th. What we've learned from the rest of the league is the importance of proximity.

I wonder how much they'd have to do to the River Center, if anything, to make it ready to host a G-League team? It's been a while since I've actually been inside.

Hearing the Cut Off Youth Center is still a possibility. They'll just have to work around the black out dates from the Cut Off Fair and the Biddy Basketball tournaments. And Bingo Wednesday's.

They were talking about it tonight on the news, here in Shreveport. If we get the team here, I'm going to every game.

Mobile makes sense in terms of proximity to other G league teams as well as New Orleans but the arena is terrible.

First, thank God for this.

Secondly, $22 million is excessive. Spend less and the revenue brought in is either enough or damn close to it.

STP shouldn't have built excessively large and expensive courthouses they have no need for. 2/3 of that court would have been more than enough .

I hope BR gets it. The River Center badly needs an anchor tenant.
