Mannix is reporting that he was very close to getting traded to the Kings for Gay to start the season and is very open to a trade.

Has 2 years + PO left, at 17, 18 and 19 mill.

Averaging 19.1/6.7 and 41% from 3, PER of 18.2.

He'll be 31 in May.

Would you move an expiring like Jrue for him or would you rather not take on that kind of long term commitment?

(Seems like the kind of move Demps would make)

Outside of his rookie year, the least amount of games Goran has played in a year is 66, and has played over 72 in each of the last 4 season.
You damn right i'd give up Jrue for that, and i think we'd be stupid not to.

He's better on offense than Holiday, gets to the line more often, but he's not good on defense. I think I'd rather 2 years of Rubio and $5 million in cap space than 3 years of Dragic. Rubio can't shoot, but he's still effective on offense and he's a good defender.

We spent $25 million in cap space this past year on 3 defensive guys, yet we are still in the bottom half on defensive stats, and one of the worst offensive teams in the league now.

as long as no picks are involved, sure. i mean, why not? unless you think Holiday will come at a steep discount (and be healthy), i don't see how that's a better long term play. still need to add another legit ball handler/perimeter player either way

Dragic is also familiar w/ Gentry (for however much longer that will matter) and it would be a good test for the training staff; can they avoid ruining another guy w/o much injury history?

Bottom Half > Bottom 10th, and they've been top half most of the year.

It's surprising how bad it's been. AD is averaging 6 more ppg, add in Jones' 11 and you have Ryno's 17 ppg covered. Moore, Galloway and Buddy are combining for 28 ppg which should be plenty to cover for Gordon/Douglas/BDJ. I guess they just haven't figured out how to make up for the loss of Norris Cole

How can that be possible when they constantly give up 30 point quarters and 100+ points a game

Defensive Rating normalizes the points to points allowed per 100 possessions. The Pels are a faster paced team so there will be more points scored on them in a game, the question is how efficiently they allow them to score. Today they are 18th, as recently as one week ago they were 13th. They just faced 2 top 6 offenses in Houston and San Antonio back to back. They'll probably get back in the top half before too long.

Nah. Stay with what the Pelicans have and hope for the best.

Pick up Grayson Allen

Side note. Is it completely out that Holiday will not resign with this team? If so, I'd rather a first and decent player than Goran. Dragic would have been great like 2-3 years ago.

No idea. I don't recall anything ever said about his future.

I would agree with that, but who's giving up a first for a half year rental?

Don't teams do this all the time when they are in the playoff hunt?

Any team traded for a pick years ago that may not need it in the upcoming draft?

me too. I really like Dragic's game. I have the fantasy that on the right team, he would play harder on D. Heck, there was a time last year when Houston star Hardin was playing matador defense.
