Where were the individual stats tonight? I had no idea AD has 9 blocks until I heard on the radio on the drive home. I don't sit with my phone on the whole time just to show the stats.

They couldn't even post his line on the bottom on any of the silly graphics? Stats can do their part in getting the crowd amped too.

Gwen Stefani is back for another season.

As for the renovations, the building looked great. It was nice we had 17k and it wasn't a massive clusterfrick when you get in the building, especially with them handing out t-shirts.

Where the stats not up on the 2nd level video screen?

At the preseason game I went to, I had no problem with that.

This. Had to be a malfunction on the pelicanvisionjumbotron, right?

It's funny you mention a malfunction. Ok the stat sheet from last year looked like some 1970s-era computer graphic. In the preseason game, it was there, but then for a few SECONDS had this more modern background (still with a shitty 70s font).

They flashed the stats periodically throughout the game. Otherwise, it had the Smoothie King logo with "opening night" up there. Im guessing it was a PR move considering SK handed out 17k free shirts

Interesting. I never saw the stats. I did think that it may be just an opening night deal for Smoothie King. Hope so.

Sound system in the arena sounded like shite tonight too, was really hoping to hear an upgrade.

Intro video, not the chef fox sports one, was pretty crappy too. Really wish they'd get away from that "epic instrumental" crap.

I realize I'm an old frick (albeit very cool and a pimp with young chicks on each arm), BUT I couldn't understand a motherfricking word out of the sound system tonight.

Yeah I thought the sound was terrible and stat boards were hard to see.
But we got that W

Yep, along with no stat updates, audio was my biggest complaint. Could not hear anything from the upper deck. Intros were very lack luster. Fan experience personnel need to step their game up. Hope it's just first game problems, because that was just bad.

Also, we were nowhere near a sell out. Lots of leftover shirts.

Pretty good crowd, though. IMO.

game atmosphere in total was lame compared to years past

intros were weak
no in game stats on the above court video board
sound was terrible
none of the "contests" and shite during stoppages

hell they didn't even do YMCA right

I miss Hugo

marketing/in game staff seem to have punted

all of this is trivial next to the game of course but it is disappointing

Yeah, I was not impressed with my first game at SKC. The screens outside and around the arena look great, but the audio and the screen in the middle were terrible. The score board looks like it belongs in a high school gym, not an NBA arena. You had to look to the video "ring" below the upper deck to even see what quarter it was.

That new TV deal money can't get here soon enough.

I don't think so. I was excited to go to my first game, but when they finally did show a stat line, AD with 20/14/6, I wondered how I missed all of that production and I was ready to go back to watching the game on TV again.

I agree that the presentation and production was pretty weak, When we were in the team store there were a ton of management types in suits running around. I think they were so worried about just getting everyone in and shirts handed out, that they kinda forgot everything else.
I'd like to see us get an updated video board and sound set up, but i think that might be a next offseason project.

I think the stats will be back. In previous years they've been displayed on the four sides of pelicanvisionjumbotron. I'm thinking that last night was just a nod to Smoothie King or it was a malfunction that can be fixed.

they only showed them when the player was shooting FTs.

Davis went to the line late in the game and it showed he was 1 away from a triple double

The sound was horrible lastnight. That needs to be upgraded with the quickness.

Not that people spend a lot of time in the gift shop, but you have this brand new shop with brand new TVs and they were not in HD.
