Season ticket questions

This year we went to five games, though we started late in the season. My son is really enjoying the games, and next year I could see us making 12-15 games easily, and it looks like season tickets can be bought for about what I'd spend on that amount of games. When is the best time to buy? Is it simply "the earlier, the better," or is there some renewal deadline when a lot of people let season tickets go and there are more to choose from?
I remember for Saints season tickets there used to be a day when you could walk around the Dome and all the available seats would be labeled with prices for season tickets - you could check out the view and pick out what seats you wanted. Do the Pelicans do something similar at some point? I've looked at the online tools for choosing seats, but some of the ticket prices on the virtual seat finder do not match up with the prices listed in other spots on the website for 2015-16.
I'm also wondering if I'd do better buying half-season tickets or buying full season and just selling the games I don't use on stub hub. For you guys that do this, about what percent of the time are you able to sell your tickets when you list them (assuming around face value or cheaper, not looking for profit)?

Just call the season ticket office and read them the laundry list of questions you just asked. I'm not being sarcastic. They will be able to do more for you than any rando on tigerdroppings.

Yeah just call and ask what the packages are. There are so many they tailor to your schedule. Well worth the money.

I wouldn't rely on selling games on stubhub for a full season, to hit or miss for me.

My problem is my kid's karate schedule. Mondays are usually out for him, and he has classes on Tues. and Wed., which he can miss fairly often but doesn't know too far ahead of time when he can or can't miss. Then we're gone usually one or two Fri./Sat. nights per month for out of town tournaments. So I couldn't just select a large game package before the season - I don't know which games I can make til maybe a week ahead of time. But it also doesn't make much sense to individually pay for 12-15 games on stubhub throughout the season when I could have season tickets for nearly the same cost. Even if I only go to 20 games and throw the rest away, I'm still coming out ahead. But I would think I could at least sell 10-15 games on stubhub and significantly cut my cost.

We have purchased the 12 game weekend package the last 3 seasons. I believe they have a 12 game superstar package or something like that as well where you get tickets for 12 games (could be any night) against teams with all star caliber players.
The renewal deadline just passed, so there should be some open seats of people that didn't renew.
The Pelicans do the promotion you mentioned where you can walk around and pick the seats you want.
Like others have said, call the Pelicans and talk to one of the ticket reps. They are very helpful and accommodating.

If they are winning, tickets are much easier to sell without getting killed.
Regarding renewal deadline, not renewing doesn't free up the seats. You just don't get a chance at the prizes and the 14-15 ST cost iirc.

I was told they have 2 deadlines. If you are renewed by 3/31, you will receive the Early Bird Pricing, but the real deadline is 4/15. If you aren't renewing by then, they will drop your seats.

I wouldn't rely on stubhub, you won't get much of your money back, if any.
If I were you and only planning 12-15 games, I'd either go half season or one of their 10-12 game packages.
OR, find a friend and split a full season with him/her. Buy two seats and split the games up between the two of you.

Seriously, if I have mediocre lower bowl seats (non-club) and want to sell them fairly cheap (say $40 each) for about 20 games, can I expect to sell them half of the time? I know the Pelicans will buy back 5 games and credit you for the next season.

As long as you're willing to concede (sell) a couple of the marquee games, you'll be fine.

Just understand that you may have to eat (or worse - attend
