so you don't get people not throwing in the towel on a player after 1 season? no one is saying he's going to be an all star. a solid bench contributor would be satisfactory

The kid is 20 and has played a grand total of 1 season. Why should we give up on him? He only makes $2.5m so he's not exactly killing our cap space.

Probably because of your superior intellect and basketball knowledge.

I mean the dude sucks.

See . . . it's insightful analysis like this that places you in the stratosphere of gurus.

shite happens

See above.

quote:

The second you just accept the fact that he isn't a very good basketball player it will save you from expecting a lot from him and it never coming.

And, frick me, a psychologist, too. Dayum.

quote:

Like I said he'll be an alright 5-10 minute back of the bench guy for 3-5 years in the league and then end up somewhere in Europe. Sure drafting the next Wade would have been nice but it is what it is.

I bow before your knowledge.

I'm not giving up on him, I just don't expect anything but being a 8-10 guy on the bench. And I don't get a lot of the defense he gets on the board. He had literally the worst NBA season of all time. I think he deserves some criticism for it.

Not even a matter of being 'pro-Rivers' it's a matter of not giving up on a rookie after what wasn't even a full season due to injury. Only costing you like $2.5 million.

So written on Dec 26, 2012, before he improved his shooting and defense.

Fail.

And if he sucks next season you can just let him walk at the end of his initial rookie deal. Or, more likely, extend and trade.
