Yeah heard this the other day on their podcast.

They were doing a mailbag questioning show and one of the questions was “who do you think can take a Memphis like leap this year” and both unequivocally said New Orleans.

Prefaced it’s hard for anyone to jump from play in to two seed, and I agree, but if there is one team that could propel themselves from play in to top tier seed it would be New Orleans with a healthy Zion/team. Both went on to heap enormous praise onto Zion.

And I whole heartedly agree.

My offseason hot take is the Pels win more games than the Grizzlies, and that was before the JJJ news.

MEM was something like 20-2 in the regular season without Ja. That's obviously fluky and not remotely sustainable or repeatable.

The comments on that video are the worst. All food jokes. I hope he dominates this year and shuts everyone up.

I got a lot of satisfaction out of him making Jae Crowder his bitch, as well as PJ Tucker, who showed up several times in that video.

The Grizz are going to have a decently large regression this season. I just don't think they are nearly as good as they showed this past season. Wouldn't be surprised if they are in the play-in.

People are about to find out how important Slo-Mo was to the Grizzlies' success.

I get that the video is mostly positive but the 4 guys one basketball argument is so dumb. There will be a lot of staggering of minutes to keep 1-2 on the floor at all times and there is a clear guy in line for a reduced offensive load in Jonas. Jonas is great but you aren't taking shots away from Zion/BI.

Tbf that is basically what KOC said as well.

Pels will basically have no bad lineups when healthy, that they have a myriad of ways they can go big and small and always have at least 2 guys that are elite offensive players.

I remember all the times at the dreadful beginning of last season when I said that we had to keep playing NAW, because otherwise there was no one else who could do anything with the ball. We'd watch Graham pass it to Sato, who'd pass it to Temple, who'd pass it to Jaxson, who'd pass it to Naji ... and then we'd have a 24-second violation.

Those days are long, long gone.

This is the first season in a long time, maybe ever, where we have a roster where we won’t be asking lesser players to punch above their weight in the starting lineup(or bench), having to play the season in larger roles they aren’t best suited for. Which was always a recipe for high variance games and seasons, and made injuries especially brutal. Instead, actually having guys capable of punching much higher than the role they are likely going to be asked to play(Jonas, CJ to an extent, and even Trey/Jax to an extent), meaning they can focus on being efficient in their role and use excess energy to help in other ways.

I've only been around for one year but this team sure does seem to have some serious potential, especially if Daniels comes around quickly...& gives us even MORE versatility.

weird to say that JV is a ball dominant player, tho.

I never really considered him like that at all last year. (tho it was fun early in the year when he was shooting 50% from 3)

But yeah, if Trey gets a little stronger and can give us solid minutes at the 3 and 4.

If Herb gets even better at shooting the 3.

If Zion stays healthy.

Damn, hard to imagine this team not winning more than 50 games.
