We'll be a lock for a top 5 pick till half the season when Jrue returns to drop us down to pick at 10. Then Jrue leaves in the off season to play for Sac, Clippers, or Knicks.

They were a playoff bubble team relying on Holiday and AD being available to carry the load. Playoffs are a dream right now with Holiday out. What I hope to see is hitting on every major player they brought in. Hill being a legit 3 and D wing. QPon getting back to what he was. Moore becoming an Avery Bradley type pesky defender that can also hit the 3 and Galloway being just as good so we can trade Moore. And of course I'd love to see the rookies do well. That's where my head is at, already on player development and not win totals.

Should Management consider tanking this year if Jrue's holdout is longer than say mid-December?

We should have tanked at the end of last year. If we had, there is a good chance we'd have Kris Dunn on the roster, and the Jrue news would be much less terrifying.

ETA: My expectations are depressing.

By management do you mean Danny Ferry and interim HC Darren Erman, or Demps and Gentry. Because Demps/Gentry can't afford to tank.

To me it all depends on if AD can take that next step to being one of the top 5 players in the league.

If yes then frick yeah we will make the playoffs unless Hill and Heild are complete busts.

If no then frick us and our future hahaha

realistic expectations for this season

If you are thinking anything other than another high lottery pick you are kidding yourself.

I realistically expect ownership to fire Demps and Gentry but I know that most everything about the Pels is unrealistic and makes little sense, from injuries to coaching to fricked up ship happening to people associated with the team past and present.

A Pelicans squad where AD plays 75+ games makes the playoffs

Realistic expectations should probably be defined as the most common outcome if this upcoming season was simulated 100 times. I can imagine that the most common outcome would be AD playing 75 games and this team making the playoffs. Now, that might happen a handful of times out of 100, but I would think the most common would be AD playing 60-65 games and the team winning 33-38 games

Can't worry about win and loss record anymore it's all about developing Buddy and Diallo

However, for non sure fire star types, I would say history has shown that those type of guys develop better on winning teams, so winning kind of does matter for that too

I firmly believe that Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard become half the players they are now if they are drafted by the Kings. Conversely, I think a guy like Ben McLemore is infinitely better if he is drafted by the Spurs

The Pels have to be good enough to not rely on either of those guys to do too much. This is my biggest fear for Buddy w/o Jrue now. I think he will be asked to create his own more and that will lead to more turnovers, lower percentages, etc.

The Jrue thing is terrible on so many levels. It really pisses me off

Realistically, 35 wins.

I'm hoping for more of course, and my God do I hope the FA signings are worth a damn

I hope so. Realistically, I don't see much better than .500 though. I hope I am wrong.

I don't want to be realistic. I am hoping for the best.

AD plays 82 games in the reg.

Tyreke is back in shape by Feb 2. He is terrific, all star.

With three great players, the Pels go on a tear.
AD is player of the week 3 times the last 30 games of the year.

Buddy is rookie of the year and leads Curry by 2 points at the end of the year for the scoring title. Pets and W's meet in the West Conf finals.
W's in 6
